Emil really puts these old fiddles to the task! And old as they may be, they stand right up to it.

I've never heard the violin played like this. What is the first song you played? (Oh, I see it's Glazunov Violin Concerto 1st movement). That's so pretty.

This piece diffinitely deserved an opus number! So much soul searching, timbre and colours. The parts that convey fraustration remind of Ysaye, the second part gave me some Dvorak vibes. Your playing is great, I love this channel!!

No kidding! Beginning of the scherzo sounds like Dvorak Op 96 quartet 3rd movement.

Qui connait le nom de ce violon ? Marie Thérèse 😉
@skylark578928 күн бұрын
nope. This is not the renamed Strad. The "Milstein Test" is to play the modified Paganini piece in order to evaluate a violin.

I understand it may seem repetitive but the whole point of these videos is to test and compare the instruments, therefore using the same repertoire is essential. Having said that, I will be posting different types of videos soon, to mix things up a bit 👍

@@niallchurch2679 Actually, its 18k euros, which is around 15,000quid. And you should tell that to strad owners, who pay x1000 for some of those…

Is this the same make as the violin that Milstein played?
@thestigofviolin2 ай бұрын
No. Milstein preferred and actually owned a couple of different ‘Strads’ during his playing career, as far as I know. This one is a modern instrument which was made by a young maker in Spain.
