sounds like Big Law is not a sustainable business model going forward as the owner of a smaller firm, I'm trying to think of strategies as to how to capitalize on this... almost feels as Hitler says: "one only has to kick in the door and the entire rotten structure will come crashing down" ??? LOL

thanks very much for this video. I'm an Australian and hope to transfer from Aus Biglaw (HSF/KWM/Allens) to US Biglaw after a few years. I just have one question - how far down the ladder will I be knocked down in terms of Cravath? For example - if I'm a 4th year lawyer in ECM or M&A at a top law firm such as HSF over here, and transition to any of the cravath scale biglaw firms in the US, will I be knocked down to 1st, 3rd, or stay at 4th? Thanks for your time.

That's a lot of words to say that firms hire those they can more easily exploit.

I couldn't agree more. If I wanted to work in a tax firm, and I could show A grades in Income Tax, Corporate Tax, Tax Procedure, and Estate/Gift Tax, would they really care that I scored a D in Civil Procedure?

I'm trying to hire for my law firm right now. Very well said on the specialization point. A resume showing some sort of specialization helps for picturing a specific role for their skills, rather than trying to guess how they might perform as a generalist.
@BCGAttorneySearch
@BCGAttorneySearch Жыл бұрын
Totally agree! Specialization in a resume can make the hiring process much smoother and give a clearer picture of how a candidate's skills align with the specific role you're looking to fill. Best of luck with your law firm hiring process!

But why is being in the background a good thing?
@BCGAttorneySearch
@BCGAttorneySearch Жыл бұрын
We appreciate your curiosity about the idea of being in the background. It's not necessarily about being invisible or unnoticed, but rather focusing on your own growth and contributions without getting caught up in workplace drama or distractions. It allows you to stay focused on your goals and excel in your own way. However, it's also important to strike a balance and find what works best for you in your specific situation. Thank you for engaging with the topic!
