Ok thankyou. I have 4 boys- 12, 10, nearly 8 and nearly 6.. and i have just started our school year so deflated with homeschooling and finding it SO hard to teach boys. I even msged my husband yesterday saying "im at a loss. How do i teach boys?" So its funny you said the same thing. Thankyou for this video. I think ill be watching it a few time over the coming years 😅

Love this! Would be keen to see what you managed to find on Temu too. I feel like I always get overwhelmed by all the things and then shop elsewhere but am always looking for new resource ideas for my preschooler that will grow with him😆

An alternative to team sports is to have Dad lead a physical education class. You can even include neighbors.

Love your style of homeschooling ❤🙂 Our first year this year and I’m racking my brain atm. The guidelines on the site are so confusing and now I’m so nervous. Trying to train my mentality stronger than my emotions 🙏🏽

Hi lovely! This is actually perfect timing as I may be able to help you :) I’m launching a program soon where we can walk through the starting homeschool process together for this exact reason - to clarify the overwhelming parts. Here’s the link if you’re wanting some support www.theorganisedhomeschool.com/starthomeschooling

Can you do a week in the life as I feel like you have so much curriculum to get through. How does everyone get through it all with balancing life, work and extra curricular?
@TheWendtHome20 күн бұрын
It’s totally doable 🙂 I’ll film a DITL and comment again when it’s up

What do you mean ‘home visit’ ? :)

How many hours a day do you spend on preschool (I'm the wife by the way just stumbled on your page through my husbands YT lol) They say that you don't need a lot of hours like regular school as you're one on one and it cuts out lining up/assembly etc.
@TheWendtHome19 күн бұрын
So it totally depends on what you would classify as ‘pre-school’. Actual sit down work that I do with my preschoolers include handwriting/sensory with letters,, read-aloud and basic counting and addition/subtraction as well as our group morning time which takes about 20 minutes (poem, bible reading, scripture memory, catechism) Our morning time is the longest however during this time the kids eat breakfast and colour in while I’m reading. We do this as a family and I’d do this even if we weren’t homeschooling so that takes the longest which is approx 20 minutes. In regards to language art, this and handwriting are the only subjects I require them to sit down. It takes about 5-10 minutes depending on their attitude and attention span. And math at that age, I just count out loud whenever I can - brushing teeth, baking, counting down during games like hide and seek, adding groups of toys together with them etc. so there’s no lesson for math it’s simply looking out for opportunities to mention numbers and basic math throughout the day. Both my 5 and 7 year old naturally understood addition and subtraction and could count to 20 by the time they were 4, even when I did nothing intentional for math. Other than that their days are full of play! Hope this helps :)

I enjoyed this video - it's great to see more Aussie homeschooling content! Though, I would love to see if you use any Australian made curriculum materials at all. :)

Absolutely love your homeschool videos! Thank you so much for sharing a realistic day. Please don’t take this harshly, I only wish to help 🥰 I’d love to encourage you to express more joy in front of them and smile like you do in your intros while teaching your kiddies. It honestly makes a world of deference and they’ll feed off your energy 🫶🏼 Keep the vids coming you’re an amazing Mumma 💕

Ahh yes I’m aware of this 🤦♀️ I can get quite authoritarian , being fun is something I’m working on but thank you for the encouragement you’re definitely not wrong ! They feed off our energy I actually spent a lot of today asking the kids for forgiveness for my frustration. Would love to hear what helps you? ☺️

We all naturally can get a little authoritarian as mummas 😅 I have 4 kiddies under 5, I certainly can understand how hard it can be to juggle multiple little beings. I’m truly amazed how you do it all and are even able to get these videos done 👏🏼 I’m beginning homeschool this week for my 5 year old and we are very excited! I’ve just noticed over time how well my kids engage with me when I express genuine joy 😌 Regardless of how tired we are , a simple smile goes a long way for them 🥰

Hi! I loved this video, it has given me some great ideas! Just curious as to whether you have to add any australian history/geography for your 6 yr old (including aboriginal study etc.)? We will continue with preschool for my almost 4 yr old this yr. But for kindergarten next yr, it looks as though maybe i have to cover the above in his curriculum as well according to the aussie gov. guidelines?
@marissawendt Жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah, I do read many Australian read alouds which are fiction but are based on Australian history. We personally don’t do any aborigine studies, and from my plan/report that hasn’t been an issue. You get to design your own plan and the guidelines to be approved are actually very vague ☺️ as long as you’re proving you’re giving a high quality education you pretty much have free reign with subjects and their content
@sarahkim8651 Жыл бұрын
@marissawendt thankyou so much for letting me know 💕 I was unsure how strict they would be. This is great news! This helps me for when it comes to registering my son. Thankyou again!

That curriculum looks amazing, I’m not an Arty mum but think I possibly could be with this, I had a look but couldn’t see any prices, what does a year cost? Many thanks 😊
@TheWendtHome Жыл бұрын
I think it was $300 aud. But it’s well worth it as it covers every subject. I wish I purchased this first before everything else bc I was buying curriculum for each subject which does add up!
