Part of SZA’s come up was off of Kendrick back from like 2013-2014. In no way does Kendrick have to, nor would he want to use SZA in any way, especially as a stepping stone to elevate his career lmao. That’s his sister and her smack you for saying this bs

Sza is using Kendrick as the cheat code. She lucky he still willing to work with her since she used to bang Drake. I hope Kendrick will uplift his sweetheart, the mother of his kids more in the future. He's done enough for Sza.

7 outta 10 is a fair review. I got to this album about two months late lol. Followed TDE almost since its beginning, but being real, Soul was always my least favorite Black Hippie member. I appreciate the pen and lyricism, but he's always been too abstract and dark in his subject matter to ever breakthrough mainstream wise. His hooks and ear for beats hasn't always been great either. A Kendrick verse wasn't going to elevate this project to any platinum status. Could it have helped, sure. I still play a handful of songs off this project, but feel no need to play it in its entirety again. These super abstract rappers like Soul, Lupe, Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE are goid in small doses, but not for entire albums imo.
@MichaelBrown-ti1un8 күн бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately, the lack of qoutables is really standing out here. Joey's rappin', but I'm not sure what the strategy is here. Cool songs, but I'm not replaying either. Griselda and Roc Marci do this whole nostalgic NYC '90s music better than what Joey's offered up so far.

I feel like their whole back-and-forth went wayyy too fast for promotion to "pick" a winner. Yeah the labels probably promoted the winner AFTER the dust settled. I'm white so i dont really dance like that, you know.. but Not Like Us had me moving too 😂 It sounds like victory because it was victory and it felt like victory. And D is acting like all his hits are totally organic? Come on man.. Being a baby because they didn't boost YOU for once. Learn to take an L and you wouldn't have someone using you as an icon for fakeness. Black americans have to learn to take L after L after L from childhood so why try and take the Ws too?
