Hear me out: Pangoro, Flygon, Vikavolt, and Florages. Florages because AZ's floette (we could evolve it as part of the story or smth) Pangoro because bro deserves it and also gen 6 had no megas. Vikavolt because sick as hell. Flygon because no shit. Armorogue and Ceruledge could be work well if they wanted to do a gen 9 rep for some reason, but I doubt they'll do that. Also throw a Gen 5 mon in there; literally any works other than Haxorous since giving Haxorous a mega would defeat the point of it being a dragon type that isn't in the spotlight (similar to Alteria but better) I'd say Druddigon or Golurk are better gen 5 picks. Feraligatr would work as you said but I'm not sure they should as I think they should save Feraligatr for a legends starter. I don't think gen 2 needs a rep as gen 2 is probably the gen with the most cross gen connection and already has a LOT of megas, and would benefit exclusively from a skarmory prevo and sunflora regional, but otherwise is perfect how it is. But also Ash Greninja gets repurposed (maybe slightly redesigned) as a mega Greninja with the other two Kalos starters getting megas in the same style. This way when Gen 10 doesn't have megas, the Kalos starters will keep theirs via the Battle Bond ability.

Flygon definitely deserves a mega, it not getting one in X&Y was a travesty.
