The first one is a big problem by always making the operator squat. There's no reason it has to be that low. I general i like the simplest ones the best. Hydraulic always seems overly complicated for what it does.

So when I hear Bigfoot believers claim bigfoots can tear a fairly large tree out of the ground and ram it back into the ground upside down, I call BS! It takes large, powerful machines to grind or cut stumps to smaller portions before it can pull it out one chunk at a time. Even large machines can't just tear a 2 foot diameter tree stump out of the ground. Let's not even talk about the impossibility of ramming a tree back into the ground tip top first and expect it to go into the ground like a pile driver.

When I was in college in the 70s I worked for a man who had a Double A Ford truck that carried a tilt-up well pounding rig with a wedge where the hammer would be. When we got to the customer's site we would jack up the left rear and take the wheel off. A drum was bolted on to drive a 4 foot circle saw to cut up the wood. After cutting the wood a PTO was engaged to drive the well pounding rig in a verticle position. It cycled every 1.5 seconds and could split logs of just about any length but no more than 2 feet in diameter. As long as the log was placed on the up stroke there were no issues.
