This is ridiculous. I own a small business selling over 2000 different fabrics and haberdashery items. There is no way I can do this. Is there and rule that states goods that came from the EU to the UK and are then sold back again can avoid this nightmare? Small businesses can't give up their supply chain info without bigger businesses then copying and outpricing the small business so there is no way anyone should be doing this! Any advice on loop holes would be appreciated

This is going to destroy 1000s of businesses who sell second hand/vintage (antiques is the only exception i see) items where this information is impossible to obtain for example and old video game from the 80s or a used hifi part from a manufacturer no longer in business. Yet a private seller can still sell? its either safe or not. Businesses will close and all those millions of items will have to be put in landfill. Hardly environmental.
@morelia217013 ай бұрын
This depends - is the EU actually going to enforce it? Most simply ignore the GPSD.
@CatsForNaps3 ай бұрын
Technically, you can't sell vintage equipment today as well. Because you don't have the DoC, REACH and RoHs is out of date, etc. Nobody enforces it on small company/private sellers, selling directly to the end user. This only really applies for B2B companies :)

This is great stuff, we need more awareness about metacrime, a new frontier of cybercrime. Yesterday I saw the official introduction of this term, "metacrime", by a White Paper from Interpol. As per their words, there's an explosion of virtual crime; the most highlighted ones are grooming, radicalization and general cyberattacks. More challenges to the digitalization of society.

Even today it still feels like something that is designed to benefit the member states than the skilled worker :( Intra mobility and moving to another EU state under the blue card is a pain.

I don't agree with the idea that citizens should be asked about future developments- they were not asked whether they wanted to be part of a union taking so much sovereignty from their states, citizens are the real sovereigns, politicians are mere representatives! So, just as sovereignty was given away, it can be taken back!

I feel unconvinced. While the questions over the practical implementations of the EU register are interesting, the concerns over privacy feel overblown - if not intentionally so. More specifically, the proposed set-up at 21:00 where the house in the south of France is owned by two shell companies under someone's name has the explicit purpose of avoiding tax. The trade-off here is clear: pay your taxes like everyone else or try to game the system and your children end up in the register. Later you have concerns about who will have access to this information, and the speaker -interestingly- is concerned over the tax man and journalists (grouped alongside with "gangsters") gaining access to information on the registers. Privacy here is used as a strawman argument. The truth is that the AML register might -and probably will- be used by governments to claw back lost revenue hidden in Luxembourg & other "fiscally advantageous" countries within the Union. These proposed changes would likely impact Luxemburg professionals such as lawyers required to set up these shell companies in the first place by making Luxembourg a less attractive place to hide wealth. This is the real concern raised here, and not this chimera named "privacy".

The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD, 2006) applies to persons with disabilities and reaffirms that all persons with all types of disabilities must enjoy all human rights and fundamental freedoms. It clarifies and qualifies how all categories of rights apply to persons with disabilities and identifies areas where adaptations have to be made in order that persons with disabilities can effectively exercise their rights, as well as areas where their rights have been violated, and where protection of rights must be reinforced. Article 24 recognizes the right of persons with disabilities to education, without discrimination and on the basis of equal opportunity, the state having the obligation to ensure an inclusive education system at all levels and lifelong learning.
