...just looking for a reason... and they are everywhere I look!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the sound mix of this song on a tiny stage. Rawlings hitting those perfect harmonic notes for the first half of the song. It blends perfectly. Then in the second half, they have a foot peddle battle for a sec. Then guitar battle. Grinning at each other. Damn, that’s hard to see/hear?

Got any more of this John Fenwick? Damn!
@danielfros Жыл бұрын
So it's not mixed perfectly, but awesome sauce regardless. I enjoy Dave's swells in and out around Taylor's voice, and the dueling guitars is pure joy. As a huge Rawlings fan, it's rare to hear recordings of Dave on an electric. Criminal that there isn't more material out there. If he ever had a full "Dylan goes electric" moment, I'm here for it!

Dave needs to know when to play and when not to play. His leads are playing over the lyrics. And he's too loud! Such a waste of a great song.
@bentonscrivener Жыл бұрын
Those are fills, not leads.
@johnroseman9087 Жыл бұрын
There's a difference between playing 'around' someone's lyrics (fills) and 'over' someone's. Go loud for the solos, not the fills!

Which idiot disliked this song?? I tell you, the more I hear this band, the more I realise how underrated and talented they are! These guys should be megastars ffs! It's not just the melodies, voices and harmonies! Their lyrics are just brilliant!!!

So cool to find an early version after knowing what shows up on the album. Personally I'm glad they slowed it down, the 10-minute epic is one of my favorites they've ever done.

I agree, this is kinda fun but the 10 minute is such a jam session. When I really need a break I pull out the headphones, turn off the lights and get wrapped up in it.

I was at that event. Call it what you want is one of my favorite songs. I love the breakdown in the middle, but when I went to this show, FTP killed it with this song, absolutely one of my most favorite concert experiences.

A small bit of rock and roll.....feels like on a remix it might get an alto sax.......funny that an ad guy has boosted the line of the title.

Intriguing song. A little bit of early Springsteen mixed with Bob Dylan.......really good storytelling. Something that a lot of folks can relate to......and the quietness in the middle of the song.....cool concept. SOLID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well you can't say it any better than Anthony, that's an excellent observation. Just saw Dawes in St. Louis a week ago and this may have been my favorite song of the show, the lead guitarist (sorry I don't remember his name!) just absolutely NAILED it, it was so...Dawesome
