Thanks so much. I'm wondering if Bosch batteries will ever get to 900Wh and still be a down-tube size and removable. I ride long distance also needing the mountain/off-road aspect. Here in Australia Canberra to Braidwood is a brilliant ride, for instance. How many USB ports come from the system?
@ContenderBicycles20 күн бұрын
Currently only one USB port from this system! Bosch seems to be sticking with the 800 Wh for now, but remember yo can get that France extender to bring you to 1050 Wh of total battery life.

Hello. I have a Cannondale Quick Neo SL bike. I can use one of two apps to track my rides: the Cannondale app or the MAHLE My SmartBike app. They seem to offer some similar functionality. Both connected to my bike. Which would you recommend I use to track activity?
@ContenderBicyclesАй бұрын
I personally would use the Mahle app. For the most part, anything that would go wrong electronically on the bike, Mahle would need to fix, so if you only want to have one app, that one would be more useful, should anything go wrong.

Also, would it be possible to just remove the suspension levers from the cockpit?
@ContenderBicyclesАй бұрын
You are able to remove the suspension levers, but if you do not want to get new top caps and lockouts, the suspension would be fully open all the time.
@rmbtdАй бұрын
@@ContenderBicycles thank you again. Appreciate it.
@rmbtdАй бұрын
How hard would it be to give maintenance and remove the rear shock?
@ContenderBicyclesАй бұрын
Removing the rear shock is actually pretty easy. Disconnecting the lockout is the most challenging part, but the removable shock cover gives you plenty of room to see the shock and get tools in to change it.

That is the 2023 model year, but the 2024 is the same, and the 2025 has the exact same frame and geometry, just an updated handlebar, build, and squidloc.

Why are you roadies so concerned about weight on ebikes. 20kg to 25kg is fine for an ebike (inc 5kg of battery).

Can you do rockgardens and drops with this bike?
@ContenderBicycles6 ай бұрын
For a Cross Country Race bike this handle drops and rock gardens well, but if you don't plan on racing I would recommend closer to a trail or enduro bike. I would check out the video about the Santa Cruz Hightower on our channel if you would be interested in that.

Thank you, I mainly do racing so this sounds perfect. I heard a lot of carbon XC fully mountainbikes breaking their frames so I was looking for an aluminum. Do you have more XC fully recommendations who can handle soms small drops jumps and rockgardens?

I have a Orbea D30 and despite a battery change I cannot get the coachsmart device to work and also the iWok is set on orange and will not change. Please advise.
@ContenderBicycles7 ай бұрын
Orange should just mean that the bike is in between 25% and 50% charge, have you thrown the bike on a charger recently? We have noticed that the mount for those computers can be really tight in the mount which can cause the battery to slip out and affect its ability to turn on, our running policy is 'if the computer is working, do not remove it from the bike,' because it can cause it to reset. If you have any other questions you can call our shop line, otherwise I would advise you to take it to your closest Mahle dealer to help get you sorted.

Nice reviews, thanks for that! Looking at the Santa Cruz as next e-bike, coming down from full power. Do you have concerns about the Fazua controls being flimsy, do you think they'll age well? Thanks! 👍
@ContenderBicycles7 ай бұрын
I personally really like the design of the control. It keeps the cockpit clean and it is intuitive to use. As for it being flimsy, it is made of plastic so a direct hit to hit may cause it to break, but in a crash, you'd be more likely to smack the brake lever than anything else. The control is also easy to replace, making it simple in the event you need to.

*Correction* Santa Cruz Heckler SL has 430Wh battery and not a 530Wh.
@mikei6117 ай бұрын
GREAT video! Would love to hear opinions from the riders on which bike they prefer for their riding style. Would also like to see the MRSP of each bike. Lastly, I hear a lot of reviews say that if you’re on the bigger side (I’m 200 pounds) to just get a “regular weight” e-bike. What do you think? Subscribed. Strong work.
@ContenderBicycles7 ай бұрын
Thanks! MSRP on these bikes is constantly changing, but our website has the prices live there. I think a bigger e-bike could be a better idea for bigger riders, but I would choose your bike choice more based on the right geometry and travel for your area, and less on the weight. The Heckler SL, and the Levo SL would handle a bigger rider no problem! With them both having 150mm rear travel, they can handle bigger hits and rougher trail.

I essentially have that bike, just the non-+27 five version. It’s a 2017 Scott scale 720 and extra large that I happen to cross as a frame deal during the pandemic. I cannibalized it for a full suspension build in 29,so I just needed a few parts to build it back up in 27 five having the wheels and frame line around. I just rebuilt that this week and love it.

If you were doing Moab Rocks, BCBR, Downville, … which bike would you pick? Not limited to these bikes.
@ContenderBicycles9 ай бұрын
I would probably choose the Santa Cruz Blur TR, Cervelo ZFS 120, or Scott Spark. You would want something that pedals well while still inspiring confidence on the descent. The ZFS has a bit slacker head angle then the rest of its XC counterparts, so it is an awesome bike when you need to push on the descent as much as you do on the climb.
@JeremyMartin-k5m9 ай бұрын
It sounds like you really like the ZFS. Do you think it could handle Moab better than the Spark?
@ContenderBicycles8 ай бұрын
@@JeremyMartin-k5m If I am being honest, I personally own a Spark and really like the bike. The reason why I am not singing its praise in rocks is because the top tube is pretty short so if you ride your size you have to put on a long stem which puts your weight over the front wheel, making it a super fast bike. I sized up to get the reach I wanted, and it is an awesome bike, but in doing so I sacrificed a bit of the 'racey' feeling. The ZFS is a tiny bit more all around, but honestly either bike will feel really good, especially because they're 120s designed to handle rugged XCO terrain.
