“Liste rundt i svingene” når der ikke er regnvejrs dæk på. Det må have været sjovt og lærerigt at prøve.👍🏿🌧️

Ja, det er god træning, og vigtigt at træne hvis man også kører udendørs. Det er altid sjovt at køre i regnvejr, da det er så anderledes, og pludselig er de nogle andre der måske er på toppen

Hello mate, quick question form me again, do you push the seat all the way forward in those rental karts (here or in Roskilde) in order to maximize front grip? I heard many do it (at least in Racehall). I’m more comfortable with the seat backwards, but I get crazy understeering. Thanks in advance!

@andreas_trier 2 ай бұрын
The quick answer is yes, I do, (In Roskilde the seat can’t be adjusted). I do it for 2 reasons. #1 I’m a pretty short guy at 166 cm, and need it to actually reach the pedals. #2 because of the balance in the kart. When the weight gets forward, it gets easier to rotate the kart, and in turn helps with the understeer you mention. I would suggest to try and move the seat forward a bit, cause you still need to be somewhat comfortable, but it should handle better then.

Can I please ask you which braking technique do you use In 6:09? Do you first turn and then brake so the rear of the kart rotates, and then you counter-steer? If so, it looks hard to master :P Maybe you brake with wheels still parallel, but I cannot tell since it goes fast :P

It's a bit of both in that corner. I need to get the kart slowed down a bit, after the straight, but of course i need to rotate it as well. If you slow the video down,you will see that I hit the brake, to slow it down, but only for fraction of a second, since that is all the speed needed to take away, and then begins the rotation. This exact kart gave me some problems in that corner, as the brakes didn't behave how i wanted them to, with my driving style

Ok understood, so no need for trail braking or anything like that (probably it’s not really a thing in rental karts anyway if I’m not mistaken). What’s interesting is that you know exactly how much sliding is ok, I tend to brake more and avoid sliding almost completely but I think it’s making me slower 😅

@@ZakkLayster Trailbraking is used to keep the balance in the car through the corner, which would be counterintuitive to this drivingstyle, which is to have the kart sliding a bit. Besides, the rental karts don't have a suspension or enough weight transfer from front to back, to recommend trailbraking. Regarding the slide. I also use it to keep the rpm high, and use its power to push the kart inward. If I dont slide it, I would have to lower the rpm through the corner, and then it would cost me at the exit, and of course if it slides too much, the same will happen. That is why I listen to the rpm, to figure out if I slide to much. If the rpm stay, then I'm good, but if they drop significantly through the corner, then it's too much

Amazing driving (like usual) I also drive here, and trying to improve my lap time (a lousy 1:09 so far). Quick question: I noticed that you intentionally ride some bumpers (at 1:14 and 1:23) to better position the kart before next turn. Is it so? I tend to avoid the bumpers, but I scratch the wheels too much in the next turns as a result. I think I must be losing there 0.5s easily or more :D Also, didn't figure you can brake so little at 1:36 :D
@andreas_trier
@andreas_trier 4 ай бұрын
Thank you very much. Yes, that is exactly right, but also to shorten the distance i drive at those corners and for 1:23 to be able to carry more speed onto the straight. That's also why I have a tendency to take the curb at 2:33 as well.

Amazing driving. Quick question: in those areas where you have a succession of U turns, do you go full throttle or just press half the accelerator pedal so you don’t need to brake? Cheers
@andreas_trier
@andreas_trier 4 ай бұрын
Thanks I actually lift off the throttle when I begin to turn, to get it to rotate better. I never brake there unless it's an overtake

@@andreas_trier Super thanks, this is very helpful. It seems like you only break 3 times right? in 0:14 / 0:26 and 1:03. All the other turns you just lift off the throttle for half a second as you start turning and accelerate again immediately.

I also brake at 1:16, and most don't actually brake at 1:03 . But it feels better for me. But otherwise I only lift off, yes

Many thanks to Andreas, it was a great experience on a super Sunday.👏🏿 It's my first time on the track, my time improved by 0.5 sec. each heat. Yes, I admit that there is plenty of room for improvement, it will probably come. We run 4 heats. I'm down in the field, my kart has no. 11. If at some point it is in the video, it is because I am overtaken with a lap. Andreas and his brother as well as Seamus are extremely good drivers and you have to get up really early if you want to beat them. This is not the last time I come to RRC.😊👏🏿👍🏿
