I don’t care what your body weight or age is 315 for 20 reps is freaking legit I’m doing 5x5 with a max of 90 seconds between sets right now my short term goal is to do the same with 400 lbs.

The season could alternate. 2025 Open > Quarters > Teams Semis > Teams Games 2026 Open > Quarters > Individual Semis > Ind. Games Each year is the Open and Quarters for everyone to do each year, and years alternate for the elites to get more time to train or participate at both fields.

Congrats Ben! I love JB example for the day of the 5k run. Really resonated with me and brought some things back in alignment. Appreciate this channel and the gym!!!

i think that when analyzing programming, 2 main things should probably be looked at, 1 is it exciting to both do the workouts and to watch them (if no one is watching then CrossFit dies) and 2, what kind of athlete does this programming bias? i think these check both of those boxes, and i would say they are the best quarter final workouts we have ever seen, do you use other metrics for rating these workouts?

Listening the day after workout 1, Taylor vs the world on the Sevan podcast. I think you all were a little off with scores for the snatch, row, step up workout.... 260 reps.... dudes are getting crazy fit these days.

Yeah, definitely! My high end guess was 245. I was a few off clearly. I underestimated how many step ups some of these guys could do after doing 30+ cals on the rower. Impressive.

I had to get off the podcast before the Q & A and didn't get to ask. Question: Will there be a way to have more interaction with some coaches from the programs (Masters, compete, ect...)? What I mean is, if we have a question or need movement critiqued will we be able to send video in and get feed back? also is there a possibility of having more camps for those of us across the county to come and hopefully get fine tuning to things we are woking on?

I definitely wanted to make quarter finals. I get super nervous in the open because it means alot to me to do my very best each year. I actually cried when i found out! I know i have a long ways to go, but it was super cool to make it! Thank you for the programming and our great coaches!

Good point about Mondays not always being a squat day, and how people come at different times of the week! I think many gyms stick to a schedule like that.

Would love to hear how you like to program during the open. For example, do you try to prep the movements Mon -Wed that you think may show up on Friday? What modalities or progressions do you think are important to push throughout the 3 weeks that you know won’t be tested but are good to improve given the rest of the season?
