Hello, great video, very good and informative, but I have a question. We recently started using CAD models from new machining centers in the company, previously we created evaluations classically: planes, circles, cylinders, evaluations, etc. Measurements with the Leica AT901- MR Tracker Polyworks 2018 - and I wanted to use the CAD model from the designers in the correct end, but as soon as I finished and I import a CAD model like you at 25:35, so the model shows me the object being scanned outside of me... For example, do you have a link to a video where this will be shown??. Thank you very much for your help

Hello question when using point or feature labels how do I keep as a default so whenever I create a feature the nominal actual and xyz always appear
@3DScannersUK9 ай бұрын
Hi, you will see the nominals for the XYZ values appear by default. For the actuals you will have to either of probed or extracted the feature. Providing the feature type has an eligible dimensional control for an XYZ position.

Hi, first of all thank you for the video series. I have question. I have polyworks 2018 at work and I have just startene learning to use it. I only scan and not probe. I tried to create some feature and then set them to measure them through scanning but I does not show any option related to it. Only probe options. Could you help me solve the problem?
@3DScannersUK9 ай бұрын
Hi, you would need to set your measurement method in your feature properties to extract. At 16:55 Keith goes through some extraction parameters, this is how you measure features utilising your scan data.

You didn't follow the same order of targets in position 2 as of position 1. What is the reason behind it? If we use the same order of targets in both positions then will it alogn or not? And can we place targets any where on the job? Or they should ve symmetrical to each other. Thanks
@3DScannersUK10 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you for watching the video, you don't need to follow the same target order in the second position. Once you get three targets probed in the second position the software will know the correct position. The targets are generally hole centres, or places where a probe can reliably rest such as cone feature. I hope this answers your question.

Does anyone know why there is always a "misalignment detected " message every time I scan now. It hasn't done this before until it was calibrated. Then it came back and it does it all the time so I had to turn off the real time quality meshing. I don't get why this happens

This was quite usefull. I didn't get why you'd want those initial anchors, but i can actually use that in my work instead of my usual workflow. I survey corrosion damage on anythin rusty, and i'd like a better way of displaying the damage than what i do currently, which is: I create primitives (usually a cylinder i.e pipe) and reference all measurements to that or those primitives. I then create a colourmap, making sure that all primitives are within a fair tolerance (we rarely have the opportunity to do a complete circumferal scan) and end up with any pitting clearly displayed. But the range is usually so large that the colourmap is less precise than i'd like and dotting measuments by "feel" to find the deepest pit is less than optimal. So, is there are way for me to mark out, let's say 50 areas of interrest and find the deepest pit in a reasonable way that's presentable to our clients? I'd need precise measurents of each pit displayed without having 50 different colourmaps. Happy new year, and thanks.

Hi, Sorry for the late reply. There isn't an easy way to do this. We have done something similar for some of our customers in the past however it involves writing a macro. This is something that we do charge for as a service. If you would like to know more about this please contact us here - 3dscanners.co.uk/contact-us/

@@3DScannersUK thank you for replying. I'll have to make do without your services at this point in time, but I'll keep your offer in mind should I need said macro at a later time. In the meantime I'll do it the manual way.

@3DScannersUK3 жыл бұрын
Hi, if you have CAD and you are aligned to your data then go to select, data points, using reference object surfaces and select all data within a specified distance of your CAD. Now invert this selection by clicking Ctrl + I and hit delete. Make sure you only have your data visible when doing this though as you can delete the CAD if you're not careful. Hope this helps.
