What kills me about this scale is that it requires you to put 500 G on it and it won't clear until it has 500 G on it, which means it knows when 500 G is on it, which means all it's doing is confirming your weight is accurate! In other words it should have just been able to zero itself out without the weight since it already knows when 500 G is there. Am I missing something? Now somebody else just had a great idea and I'm about to try which is too turn it on put it empty container on it and fill it up until it says pass. I may update afterwards in the past I used my kitchen scale found 500 G and then placed it on there. I also had saved a bunch of metal brackets and screws that equaled 500 G exactly which I used as my weight for some time but I forgot that's what it was and used it for parts🥴

If you Google Leoch CPS3.6-12(12V 2.9AH) you will replacement batteries on Amazon, eBay and other sellers. No need to cut the plastic. However, I wonder if you could get more time our of it by going to a bigger battery such as a CPS5.5-12 - 12V 5.5AH, which may require some case modification. If you look on the back of the case they list multiple models besides the CP425, such as the CP500. CP550 and CP625 which leds me to believe they are using the same case for all these models.

What size torx screw driver do you need? It would have been easier to use a Dremel tool (if you have one).

That nickel should always weigh 5 grams. If it's not registering as 5, then your scale is off.

Someone pointed out that there are a couple of suppliers online who still sells the original cps 3.6-12 battery. Quick search and it looks battery mart may carry the original battery. I went to a local battery shop and they did not carry an equivalent which was the same size as the original. Seems online is the only way to find the original battery.

@@askquestionstrythings Thanks, it looks like Battery Mart does have it but the one for $33 plus shipping, close the price of buying a new UPS. The one you used can be had to less so I'll try the modification. Thanks for the help.

Just a quick question: I have exact same UPS. Died a couple of days ago (no outage or mains flicker). I suspect the battery is now completely dead. The UPS will not power on or give any indication that it will flash up if I put in a new battery. Was yours in that state before you did your battery swap-out? (Trying to determine if I might have a circuit board issue). thanks... good video
@askquestionstrythings

My UPS was constantly beeping like when the power goes out. That nonstop beeping is a sign that the battery is bad. No power can also be a sign that the battery is bad. I understand that cyberpower tech support will help diagnosis the issue to help confirm bad battery conditions.
@blacktop001
@blacktop001 5 ай бұрын
Okay, thanks for that. I had it do that beeping previously during outages as they wore on. I don't recall anything like that this time though. Maybe i have bigger issues. Looks like more investigating required before battery replacement is considered. Thank so much for getting back to me.

Interesting. I'm surprised you couldn't find a replacement for the old battery. The new one is technically lower capacity too, 3.3Ah vs the old 3.6Ah, not that it matters.
@askquestionstrythings

The new battery was all that was available from my local battery retailer. Looks like a couple of online retailers do carry the original battery. I agree the 3.3Ah vs 3.6Ah isn't going to matter, especially for the application I'm using it in for router backup power. Thanks for watching.

If calibration with the correct mass doesn't work it's possible the scale has been damaged beyond recalibration (things like dropped, or a large mass well beyond the scales rating was placed on it, etc). In those cases the internal workings of the scale might have been damaged and not repairable. Being stuck a Zero and not moving suggests the internal workings may be damaged.

@askquestionstrythings
@askquestionstrythings 7 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, due to the small working area I wasn't able to capture some of the details like grinding and welding in this first video. I also lost some of the footage on this in the move related to the wheels, painting and mounting the motor. I'm trying to get back to editing. Part 2 will have a little more of the actual work. The motor seems well balanced when wheeling things around. Probably balanced well with the flywheel the hammer cutters are on. When running the flywheel for the cutters seems to keeps things balanced. I was told that something large or hard hit the blades knocking one of the blade bars off the flywheel throwing things out of balance. Thanks for watching.

Some versions of this scale use a 100g or 200g mass and not 500g like my scale. Make sure you are using the correct mass for your scale's setting. when "CAL" is blinking and gives you a number, that is the calibration mass needed for your specific scale. My Scale said 500.0 so I needed a 500g mass. If calibration with the correct mass doesn't work it's possible the scale has been damaged beyond recalibration (things like dropped, or a large mass well beyond the scales rating was placed on it, etc). In those cases the internal workings of the scale might have been damaged and not repairable.

Hey dude just thought I'd let u and anyone here who doesn't know or think about this much. Nickels are made out of two different material s. The older nickels always weight 5g but some of these newer nickels are being made with a different material so they don't always weigh 5g. But here's something else as far as money to check ur scale, u can always use a bill one bill weighs 5g. And lol it doesn't matter if it's a $5 biil or a $10 dollar bill they will weigh the same. Lmao 😂 . A buddy of mine one time asked me if I had a dollar bill, and I knew he had like a few 5s and a 10. So I asked him why does he need a dollar bill to check his scale, and he replied a one dollar will be the right weight. LMAO 🤣 I just started laughing so hard it took me a while to stop laughing. And I told him it doesn't matter how much the bill is for they weight the same. He was stoned to but still it was hilarious 😂 that was like four years ago but to this day I can think about that and it makes me laugh. And we are still friends so we laugh about it all the time. 😂 Just wanted to share that funny story, Hope u all have a good one ✌️🤪

If there is no calibration weight hanging around 500 grams =17.73 oz or 1.102 in pounds! So, if you got a pound of butter or something else, it will get you in the ball park range! You can tweak & adjust with other items. Well, until you can get some weights if you choose! 😊

I didn't have a calibration weighr either, but I did have a good food scale. I used a coule of small heavy items from the pantry including a salt shaker. Adjusted the amount of salt until my collection weighed 500g. Placed them on the pocket scale and it worked like a charm.

We used very warm normal water. Distilled or DI water would also work but not necessary. Getting the concentration right was a challenge, it took a lot more epsom salts than I expected. Some of our dice still didn't want to float, I suspect their shape was the influencing factor as shape will affect the buoyancy of the dice.

Puzzle?, just bought a small RoHS digital scale and comes with a 50 gram weight, i calibrated it with that weight then when i put an Australian 20 cent piece which weighs 5.65 grams it literally shows double the weight, and i had a cheaper scale that did the exact same thing, and here i was thinking a gold nugget that i found gold detecting weighed 2 grams when in fact only weighs 1 gram bugger!!!, do you have any idea why this is happening, it doesn't bloody make any sense, if it's calibrated to the 50gram weight then why would anything else that you put on the scale shows double?
@franklinthu
@franklinthu Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the answer. I made my 500g weight by using my less precise kitchen scale to prepare 500g by pouring water into a glass (2 cups is around 480g). Perhaps not totally accurate, but got the scale going and now I can use the higher precision of the scale for things that weigh between 1-3 grams. My kitchen scale is only accurate to 1g.
