Dear Brian, isn't it strange and funny that some piano pieces are rarely heard on the piano. Albeniz and Malats would perhaps smile about that. But their music sounds so Spanish, yes, it calls for the guitar. And you spoil us with four guitars. Great!!! Thank you for that! Best wishes, Günter
@BrianFarrellguitarАй бұрын
Thanks Günter. It is indeed strange and I was playing the solo version for a few months until it struck me that this would work for a quarter especially after looking at the piano score. There was a lot of notes and rhythms that have to be omitted for the solo version and this is why I gave it a go. I've another piece that I want to do but its not a piano piece this time. Great to hear from you and thanks for the support. Brian

@@BrianFarrellguitar I'm glad my message reached you. Please know that your character comes through your magnificent , incredibly sensitive , consummate playing, without the posturing to which many musicians must resort . You're obviously a deeply feeling artist whose focus is on revealing and honoring the uniqueness of each piece, and your love and respect for your material are audible. Thank you for the music you give to the world. Your interpretations enhance my life, and the lives ---I am sure ---of many others.

I sincerely hope that the grey clouds continue to lift Brian. Music offers us a plethora of genres & connections, many of which help to heal. Dear Brian, I've taken a lot of time now to listen to your playing. The Nocturnal is an incredible piece. It captivates you. And it is a very difficult piece, for me it is unattainable. You play it with such control and intensity. I'm very impressed. Your disability in your right hand is not noticeable. Bravo and applause! Have a nice week, Günter

Thanks very much Günter for such a heartwarming comment. In a way I've found some other pieces more difficult but I tried this piece way back on the 90s and wasn't ready for it then and I always promised myself I'd come back to it eventually. The dystonia is frustrating but I think for me, I'm one of the lucky ones as I haven't had to completely stop unlike a lot that I know. I'll post a link here to me blog about it for anyone that wants to read as it's a terrible condition to have, but I guess it's not life threatening. So thanks again for taking the time to listen and comment and let's keep making the music. :) Focal Dystonia link. ( I need to update it) www.brianfarrell.eu/blog.php?pid=47
