Staying it out for the full day at the market makes a big difference. It is so true what you said, you never know when the day could turn around from bad to good. It can be when you least expect it.

This reminds me of the Christmas Markets in Manchester. The aromas of spiced cider and mulled wine and wurst and every other delectable delight!! But what makes it magical IMO is the cold and dark nights, we’re all rugged up, the lights sparkle and the colours glow. Very hard to capture on film. Aussie markets are great but just so completely different, impossible compare. Great video! Thank you.

That's so cool to see and interesting how they take up every little bit of space and use a few different hanging ideas I see that could be helpful with my items. Maybe you'll have to travel to different countries to show us the markets. I've been watching a few different crochet people and their different setups in countries that are so different than ours in Aus, especially so close to the beaches. There are so many cool places we could utilize for markets in Australia that get missed and I really wonder if people would like afternoon markets instead of early morning markets in the heat these days. My last market was from 8 to noon in 30 Celsius windy weather and I was sunburnt and heat stroke by the end of it even though I was under a commercial gazebo and people don't linger, they are out of there as soon as they can, so there isn't much chance of second thoughts on buying things they seen and missed

Yes there is definitely a perfect retail type of weather not too cool, not too warm, no wind and no rain. When everything comes together it can be so good. But that's retail. The key is to have everything perfect for each day and get the best out of it you can. If you do this then you should be ok no matter what. But even then you'll have a quiet day for no reason but trust yourself and know you did your best and it just wasn't your day. Same for one of those special days when you have a record day. I have made other episodes on overseas markets at England (Portobello RD), Berlin and Marseille. I plan to visit more overseas next year. Thanks for watching.

When we are on the beachfront it's virtually next to the stall site. In our normal market in the middle of Manly it's probably 20-40m depending on each stall position. Everyone uses really good trolleys.

I see a lot of sunglasses in this video alone. How many vendors do you have at a market on average and how big is the market space wise for them to fill? Do you limit item types or just do your best to spread them out?
@ManlyMarkets
@ManlyMarkets 9 ай бұрын
We only have 3 sunglass sellers who design their own and each has a different style so they don't overlap or compete with the nearby shops. We average about 70 stalls. I treat the market like a shopping centre and put limits on how many vendors are in each category depending on the popularity eg jewellery is the most popular category so we have a lot (15%) but they are spaced out and once again design their own and each is different to the other.
