A band who, some of them were still teenagers and the the older ones just into their twenties.. underrated .. what a band.

Paul's voice between 1:42 - 1:45 is a volcano of raw emotion. The best Hard singer ever, imo. Impeccable tone, great technical ability, tons of emotional depth and a powerful voice that could stop a Serbian tank! Great band at the top of their game here. Thank God some of it was professionally recorded like this (and bootlegged, too). Brilliant stuff!

I keep coming back to this. The pure raw emotion of the band's playing is breath taking. I don't think I've ever seen a band put so much of their souls in to the music. This means EVERYTHING to them. Other bands of the era were similar, though; just look at The Who from this same gig, and Black Sabbath from a Paris gig, also in 1970. Astonishing.

Back in East Oakland during the 70's there was a restaurant called Mama Queenies. In the restaurant was a juke box that had this record and it played a lot with that song You Better Keep Her by Marvin Holmes and Justice. Outside was East 14th Street, and the hookers walked by a lot. When this song came on and the hookers heard it, they would be dancing in front of the restaurant with Mama Queenie going out there and yelling at them to keep walkin. Miss those days.

One of the finest bass lines over written - so good, thst decades later Billy Sheehan, the finest bassist of his generation, called his band after this song. And how much footage of Andy Fraser, how much footage of that stunning bass break? - F*cking none - that's how much. Criminal.
