This is the best video I found on dividing “leggy” heuchara. I wish you were still making new videos.

Well I checked on my heuchera and the top just came off. I dug it up to find vine weevil grubs. They had eaten loads of root.
@RichardLoader2 жыл бұрын
You can usually root the pieces that the Vine Weevils leave, even if they look rather sad. Just check there are no VW's hiding in holes in the stems of the Heuchera pieces.

Hence the term, "Nodding off", as in if you start to fall assleep when sitting on such a stool (whle nodding), you will fall off it.

Great video! If only I'd found this sooner as I dug up a marmalade to move it elsewhere and thought I'd damaged it so threw it out. If only I'd known I could do this!

Thank you so much, this was really helpful, you have a great voice for presenting. At first I thought you were from Gardeners World. I was disappointed to see you don't have more videos like this, I garden in the UK and find it difficult to find good British gardening KZbin channels.

Enjoyed your video and then I went out and did some myself hopefully they'll root. Gardeners' world could do with more of this practical stuff.

Thank you Richard. I love heuchera or it's wonderful varied foliage. I had been trying to divide the leg plants into 3 or 4 small ones with roots but not always very successfully. I will give this a go next year. IOnline I have seen posts suggesting the yellower types are easier to propagate from cuttings. Is that your experience?

You should always wear gloves when using potting mix,as you can get Legionnaires disease from the mixture.

nice tutorial. Dont you cover the cuttings with clear plastic to reduce moisture loss? The poor things dont have any roots yet. I always do and obtain excellent results.
@RichardLoader9 жыл бұрын
In the shade, outdoors I find covering with plastic unnecessary, I do water occasionally though - close to 100% success this way.
@fabulous22139 жыл бұрын
I will give way a go then.

I started off watching some guy machine a bearing block out of a raw steel billet, and I ended up watching some dude use something that resembles a computer mouse to strip corn off the cob. You just gotta love KZbin!
