I wish you could use uniform symbols when you refer to ECC memory. In the RTX XXXX table you say "yes", but for the T XXX table you use "x" ... meaning yes or no????

I would always buy Wacom, the other cheaper brands have bad color accuracy even if they're calibrated, somewhere the price is always justified.

2:55 So, can you pls* share some details, how to make moveink work in pair with secondary monitor? (In way, that simple graphic tablets work) - does it have dedicated function to turn of the screen ( like xp-pen and Huion has) and use it just for drawing? - or is it possible to remap area to the another screen, using Wacom drivers? ( I assume, lovering brightbes and just dublicating the same picture from moveink to another monitor with different ratio & resolution will cause unwanted issues ) For now, that moment is crucial for me, but

A few days ago, I bought this device. It arrived today, but I couldn't get the USB-C to work with the desktop setup. It has a RTX 3090 GPU. I think this will only work with new high-end laptops. I just got a message from customer service that they are still working on the adaptors. Unfortunately, I must return this.

I have the new 27 model here and the older 24 model. The 27 is an extraordinary piece of equipment. Improves on all aspects of the 24 touch. It has a high ticket price but it’s exceptional at what it does and speeds up workflow. Love it. I just liked the Wacom 24 touch older model but the 27 is something special 🙌.

@scanprographics5094
@scanprographics5094 6 ай бұрын
Most DAW software such as Pro Tools seem to cap out around 32 cores / 64 threads, but it really all depends on how many channels you're running. Also need to be mindful of any plug-ins, as many of these aren't well multithreaded. In short, if you're only going to using Pro Tools Threadripper isn't really going to give you the best bang per buck, if on the other hand you're also going to be using your system for video or graphics applications then Threadripper will be awesome. - JG

@@scanprographics5094 interesting, didn’t know about that cap at 32 cores. It will be a combo with pro tools for audio post production, 300-400+ tracks but with dsp help, fusion and Nuke for 8-12k compositing and video editing/online with the same resulotion. I want to be able to stack at least 256gb ram. That’s one reason I was looking for one of these. Many other processor/motherboards seem to top out at 128

May seem overpriced compared to other brands but people seem to ignore these are 4k, 120hz, native 10-bit, up to 99% adobe RGB, pantone certified, multitouch screens which is indeed expensive and what other brands do not offer (at least not everything in one package). Sure they do add extra to the price because there's no direct competition yet. Other brands need to step up but at the same time they would then probably closely match Wacom prices while keeping lower production cost (lower quality) instead of being a match competition at lower prices. In the end customer pays anyway and Wacom has no reason to worry, same old story with any big brand. Stop buying then they'll have a reason to be worried.

Great review. If you are looking for a portable drawing device that can also be used as a second screen with touch when you aren't drawing, you should check out espresso Displays. They just launched their 17 Pro, which is 4k, 1 billion colours (100% DCI P3), a single USB-C connection (no additional power), all for $999 USD. Presale till late November, and you can save some cash with their pre-sale bundles.

@IsaacBrown-kk7jx Out of curiosity, have you tested it, and what type of art do you do. I personally haven't myself as I only have up to 8192 levels of pressure, but l do notice when I switch back to 4096 as I do mostly lineart and am always having to adjust settings to match when I draw on Magma Online Drawing board because of the difference in pressure's. Also, when sketching, it's noticeable as the less pressure available, the less control you have for me anyway as I notice the details. Not forgetting Wacom prices art expensive as they seem to forget their no longer top pick for drawing devices considering not everyone can pay those price's and there is equally better aquivalents' available that perform just as good for half the price. I would say the only thing I noticed when using an XP drawing display was how tilt feels different. That's not to say I don't like Wacom as I have used their pen and display device's over the years, but as time went on,I switched to more affordable option's that do basically the same think.

When you look at the cost of art supplies a year, anywhere from $250 to $5,000, any tablet looks like a good deal depending on your use case. The 27” works with a single USBC cable (included) ,that’s if your computer has USBC ports or Thunderbolt ports. As for the two new versions, I’d say they too will work with one USBC cable. However, if your computer doesn’t support USBC then there’s cables included for older computers! The supplied USBC cable is 2meters long, but I found that I needed 3meters as my Wacom isn’t adjacent to my computer. I therefore bought, an Apple Thunderbolt 4 cable at 3meters, it works great, of course it’s not cheap, but when you’ve bought one of these, why would you scrimp on the cable !?!?!?
@don-dori

I'm thinking real hard about my options… My Dell T7910 can't fit even the smallest 4090 without a side cover mod. But more important - I don't want to throw away the benefits of this platform that has top end CPUs and 40 TB of NVMe and disk-RAID storage, ECC DDR4, and a 1300W Platinum PSW. Don't forget the 40xx video cards don't use ECC RAM. The RTX 6000 does. That's a BIG deal for the type of processing that I'm targeting, which is long term management of personal information, AI/ML, and maybe video rendering. I think many people would be surprised at how often bits are corrupted during normal processing by a number of "natural" factors and inconsistencies in silicon. Just do a search on studies that document how often RAM has errors, which leads to permanently storing that corruption. Or the problem of "bit rot" - which is degradation after storing data (why I like ZFS storage). I'm very interested in what others are thinking who are in my (somewhat legacy) boat... Pluses of RTX 6000 Ada: - Small size (fits my case) - Lower power consumption - Greater memory capacity - ECC memory - More processing units of the type I need (Tensor Cores, RT Cores, ROPs, TMUs, Shading Units) - Optimized by size and cooling to add more units in the system Minuses: - Cost! - Cost! - Cost! Do I want to pay $4K for a high-end GPU? Of course not! I have to weigh the cost and benefits. I'm not made of money. I have a lot of other uses for that cash. But I've always been willing to invest in my future if the reason is compelling. Would I play games on it? Hell NO! If gaming was my thing - I'd by a reasonable case, a MOBO that supports PCIe 4.0, probably an RTX 4070 and a high clock rate 6-8 core processor, 32GB DDR5, a 2TB PCIe 4.0 boot NVMe, plus a RAID 1 using 8TB WD Black or Red spinners for data, Thunderbolt 3.0 for a backup bus... and a high refresh rate 2K curved monitor. That would get the job done for the cost of ONE NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada! Phew. That puts the cost/benefit analysis into perspective. But what do I give up with a gamer GPU? Robustness and total system capacity. That's the bottom line. The Dell T7910 has years of good service. Not everything I want, but will get the job done. Dual Xeon E5-2690v3's, 128 GB ECC RAM and several PCIe NVMe SSD's. I can upgrade the CPU's to v4, Plenty of room to upgrade storage to over 100TB and RAM to 512GB - possibly 1TB. I'd rather not constrain expansion of PCIe devices by having a 3.5x wide video card (!) because I still have room to add an NVMe RAID card that gets 10Gbs for a boot or cache drive. I don't want to add another 150W of power consumption, or add heat to the case with a card that doesn't push it out the back. That stresses the other components.
