Great video! And it’s really got me thinking. I noticed in your bio that you’re a teacher also. I am as well and wondering if you’ve ever done a school fundraiser with this type of product. If so, what do you think you’d charge? I’m guessing it would depend largely on size but just trying to think of a starting point. I bet kids would have a great time spraying painting the canvases!

Hi Nick! Love your videos. They have been a great help for me. I am cutting 3mm basswood with the sticky adhesive paper on the back, but the cut doesn't go all the way thru. I tried "lower the focus" but it doesn't quite "cut" it. Is there a better setting with only 1 pass? 2 passes takes too long. Thanks for your help!

Have you re-mounted a screen? Meaning you've burnt the image, removed it from the frame, then re-installed it to the frame for more printing?

Thought of an additional idea to truly save all that middle material. Rout the inner circle, then, knowing that depth, if your bandsaw has the tall capacity, like bandsaw boxes, cut off the bottom. That'll automatically separate the walls of the bowl, the usable for another project entire center section, and bottom of the bowl. After light sanding, glue the side; which still does not have the outer ring shaped... meaning you can glue the bottom to the sides with exact alignment, and then use the router with a temporary double-sided taped block in the center, or, non pinned bandsaw circle jig to cut the outer wall ring.

Good video. I love the rubber feet because I find that it prevents the board from cupping, as it allows air to circulate all around the board. You make some impressive looking boards!

Hi, I recently got the F1 Ultra and starting to experiment with the black slate coasters. I'm putting photos on the right now. My file is all set up fine, but I want it to come out a little brighter/whiter or more pop than it's giving me. The preset engrave settings for coasters the XCS has for the Ultra are quite different than what you showed for the standard F1. It gives you IR laser settings, it gives me Blue light settings, maybe because the Ultra is more powerful than the standard F1? It gives me blue light, dot dur. 190, power at 55, dpi 350. It comes out not bad, but I'd like to get more pop. What settings would you recommend to get more pop out of the photo image?

I’m wondering if you meant 3/4” round nose router bit vs. 3/8” as you mentioned in the video? The grooves look a lot bigger than my 3/8” bit made 😅. That aside, you are the master! Such great content and so clear and concise! I’m almost finished with my first board (for my mom on my parents’ 50th anniversary Christmas) all thanks to your videos and I’m definitely saving up for that drum sander lol! Thank you!!
@SixEightWoodworks12 күн бұрын
Yeah, it all depends on the bit manufacturer. It is a 3/4” groove, but the bit is labeled as a 3/8” radius, so half of the 3/4”

Found your page and have been watching almost all of them. Because of you, I have decided to add a Laser to my repertoire. Looking at xtool S. Do you know if you can (for example) lay the S1 directly over a table top to engrave? Thinking, without the riser, and seen that it is empty then straight through. Hope you understand what I mean.

Hi there. Saw the linked tape isn't the 300 LSE its 468MP is that a big downgrade (since its hard the price) since you talked up loving the 300 so much? Just wasn't sure about the adhesive quality downgrade since it's such a big roll so you're buying into a lot of it 🙂

NIck this is a great video! Thanks for sharing your hobby, passion and creative work. I am seriously considering starting with this and want to have a great, reliable tool for starting. Would you recommend this model for a starter or is it too much? Also, what about "engraving" on fabric e.g. denim, would that work?

Great video! I've done the odd bit of playing with paint and laser but not much so far. I bought a load of white ceramic tiles, it was cheaper than canvases and multi use! Where I live, it tends to be a bit of a pain to go outside and spray paint and to be honest, since I don't do a lot of it, the cans tend to seize up....However, I have found that if you use a magic eraser torn into strips, you can dip into acrylic or other paint and get a really good, even layer, quite quickly. I can do that in my craft room easily and I already have lots of small tubes in loads of colours to use up. The other thing with using tiles to practice on, is that you can clean them off after and re use for more testing!
