this is a cool find as me and a friend just took the open water diver course with Jeff Nelson and Force-E. Jeff was awesome, Highly recommend him as your trainer or guide. Great guy, very patient and knowledgeable. We flew to Florida from Delaware for this course, it was well worth it. The Blue Heron Bridge Dive is awesome.

In ALL diving emergencies, the HARDEST part is getting an unconscious casualty back on board. You need to work out how even the smallest crew can get the biggest diver back on board. The gear for this needs to be deployed easily & quickly and you need to PRACTISE so EVERYONE knows what to do. Work it out on YOUR boat with YOUR crew. We do a rescue scenario on EVERY trip and time each attempt. Makes for a bit of excitement during the lunch break and focuses everyone's attention on what can go wrong and what to do about it.

Bad idea to have dive bottles up in the bow of the boat. Weight up front makes it unresponsive in even 10kn wind and a very wet boat as the bow can't rise up to waves. In this boat, the bottles probably should be just in front of the helm.

My friends want me to use my boat and take them on some upcoming dives to which I will be sitting out. What are some details that I need to know WRT driving a dive boat. I know I need a dive flag, O2, sat phone, but should I be expected to drive the boat to an emergency ascent driver, what happens if multiple divers surface in different locations to check on their buddy, seems like a potential to hit them. I feel like I want to anchor and not move until they are all surfaced. what do I need to know before I agree to this.

Best to take a boater safety class with Coast Guard to help you understand the rules then come into our Pompano store and ask for Tim, he can give you more info about private boats and divers. Thanks for asking.

I know those boats well. One thing I would do is add designated docking lines 3/8” or 1/2 “ for the mid ship cleats. Secure them to the T top frame for quick access. Most of my short term docking, I only used that one line. It’s great when loading and unloading gear and people, pulling to fuel docks and restaurants and pulling up to other boats. That way nobody is in the way when the boat operator is ready to release the line. You don’t have to step over people and gear to release bow and stern lines

I spoke with Henderson by phone and was told there was no immediate plans for boots. If someone like me would wear it because of a neoprene allergy, boots would be needed for cold climates. Otherwise the suit would basically be unusable. Any future plans a for boots?
@rjmidd2650 Жыл бұрын
So being non neoprene, is this suit less buoyant so you can use less lead? Being extra stretchy, should you go a size less to keep it tight against the skin? Thanks

Lion fish is an invasive species from the China sea. They must be all eradicated since they are changing our ecosystem by eating our small native fish. In some islands they even pay you for the catch. It’s extremely poisonous and it must be handle with care and only by people who know how to cut them and handle them. Be safe out there and be very careful with this animal it could cause you a great deal of pain and possibly death.

What is your advice for a couple wanting to dive together but do not always have a a third person available to stay on board while they are diving? There are obvious risks involved if the boat is anchored but unmanned.
@ForceEDivers2 жыл бұрын
Hello...two things too recommend. First is there are plenty of dive clubs in the South Florida area you both could join to make new dive buddies and that way you can do 2 up 2 down. The second suggestion is to hire a captain, contact one of our stores, we have names of captains who do just this. Cheers :)

In three decades of diving from my own boats, I have never had a problem leaving the boat unattended. I use all chain and a Bruce type anchor. The first thing I do when I reach the bottom is to check the location of the anchor. We don't dive in current from our boat, and we dive early in the morning before the wind comes up. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qna3eqCbidp2jcU

Tomato is a fruit, not a vegetable hence your relish is not a relish a all. Salsa Baby.

I hear you but every culture is different, and especially if you were brought up being taught that tomatoes is a vegetable. So to pop up decades later and say oh tomatoes is actually a fruit is hard for some ppl to accept. And I'm an example and also for many. To him it's a vegetable so we have to accept his culture.
