There isn’t one single Horse in Vietnam. Something basically wrong with that.

Cowboy has to be my favorite part of this scene because he made himself look so dumb in the interview compared to the other guys who were more confident about what they had in their minds about the war.

It's funny how Joker's words were the most psychotic: he's the only one who's talking shit. He wants to appear and feel like he's a cold blooded killing marine but he's still green in this scene. He's seen combat but he's never had to see his enemies as people and shoot them dead. So he can talk the most shit out of everyone; until the end at least.

That's why Kubrick is probably one of if not my favorite writer & director (it's really hard to pick a number 1 so he's top 4 in no specific order) he treated movies like something that should be watched more than once and should be talked about and figured out and everyone have a different view of what's happening and why it's happening snd people say "wow fhese actors are so naturalistic it's amazing" for one they are good actors, but also Kubrick would push them with an exorbitant amount of takes trying to get perfection out of his actors

Poor dumb bastards that's part of General Patton speech. No one ever won a war by dying for his country they won a war by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country. The General Patton speech even in the movie that came out the year I was born 1970. The general even use the term those son of a bitches. But nowadays everybody is offended that's why they didn't make places for 100 Mi of nothing but death destruction and make it look like a parking lot now commanded to throw flowers at the enemy and make :-* first

As long as China had their back they didn't want to go too hard on North Vietnam. The last thing they wanted was another korean style chinese intervention. Its not an accident they upped the ante once Nixon went to China in 72.
