Marine Antenna

It's a separate system on the FM transmitter that activates HD Radios (Usually just before the actual headers and can sometimes activate after the alert is done). Not all HD Transmitters activate HD radios unfortunately.

No, especially on a good weather day. They've taken like 1-2 hours to test after 11am before but have never not conducted it before excluding the severe weather days. It's like their in CDT or forgot EST is now EDT.

Hopefully I can get WXM68 and WXL93 with the right antenna equipment one day so I can get weekly tests from BOX and ALY.

GYX Probably didn't want people in Massachusetts to hear about Avalanche warnings in Coos county even tho I noticed WNG575 started going off for Coos county last year. I just wish I could get WXL93 for SAME Header BOX FLW's cuz the 1050hz ones are annoying, especially Nashua River at east Pepperell.

Yep XD. No wonder my EAS Count went from nothing to over 2000 in like 18 months. Now I gotta outdo LiminalAdvance's WX radio collection count in less than a year or two XD.

@@lightningrunner7250 Honestly flex the EAS you get more than the radios. Having essentially the collection size he does I can say for a fact I regret most of the radios I've bought. I wish I focused on the rare alerts more, but what's done is done. Now most of my radios sit in tubs waiting to either be put on a shelf when I have the space or be sold off.

@@Montecat33 True. Especially if you can get all 7 channels from different forecast offices. I could probably get the right external antennas and get WXM68, WNG546, and WXL93 if I wanted to.

@@lightningrunner7250 wow, now that's impressive. Yea IMO definitely go more for the EAS catching part of it rather than the rare radios. In the end, you're left with a bunch of plastic clocks that really have no meaning behind them other than they are rare. My setup now is more focused on getting as many channels and offices as I can get other than flexing the number or rarity of radios I have as I use to. I gotta say it's much more relaxing and enjoyable than having to deal with the headache of all the radios. I like your current setup, it's very pleasant and aesthetically pleasing

Thank you. I didn't realize I had enough 1050hz radios to get 1050hz FLA's from WXM44 and 1050hz FLW's on KZZ40 and WNG575 until last week so I'm all set on that end. Probably just external antennas and the Midland er series over the next few months plus a Reecom r500 for the multi channel alert feature.

@@lightningrunner7250 The fact you've gotten multiple 😵 glad to see NWS offices actually tone these rare alerts, in my area they are so scared of angering the public they barely tone anything. In fact, I was just put under a WSW a minute ago but no tone out 🫠

I'm up to 4 AVW's for 2024 now. What a wild year it's been already. Plus some of my first Coastal Flood warnings.

I bet you could get a whole bunch of stations in Richmond NH. Reception radius on countless stations either reaches or is barely short of that town.

I've had GYX stations having problems a few times in the past year. It's nearly cost me many weekly tests.

I had a weird glitch happen once on all 4 GYX Stations I can get during a weekly and most of my radios didn't go off for the glitched headers.

Coastal flood warnings are similar to storm surge warnings that are issued by the National Hurricane Center

KZZ41 only serves Caledonia, Orange, and Essex in VT and all 10 NH Counties. Hopefully BTV Expands it tomorrow
