I go through a new DS4 every six months or so, but it's better than any alternative I've tried. I've yet to find a controller that stands up to the sort of use the game requires at higher levels.

@@woxens-0 i'm considering making some kind of solid can to cover the joystick module and reduce the ways that dust can get it. the top will still have to be open, though, and i dont know how much dust will get in that way. i've still got plenty of replacements, but i dont have a solution for recalibrating for new pots and just have to hope the replacemenra are close enough.
@iambad10 сағат бұрын
i have also wondered whether a metal stick shaft and metal housing rim might prevent dust if those are the two parts that are wearing down to produce it.

Hello! The issue you have with cycles is definitely due to the lag you have each time you respawn in a room. All cycles have been made in a way that is is possible to do the room without waiting after respawning, but because of the lags, you start the room later and the cycles does not work. Disabling mods is the only real way to fix that. Mods preset exist in Olympus, so you can just save your current enabled mods as a preset, then turn them all off and only turn SoCM on to get rid of the lag (you can probably keep a few more if you want, it should be fine). It would only took like 2-3 minutes :) Nonetheless, I hope you have a great time playing!
@iambad10 күн бұрын
@@xaphan5093 i did some mod cleanup after running into issues with debris in a move block room (the one with the energy tank), but there are several that i'm still using and so left enabled. im also just kind paranoid about disabling mods that i have active saves for. it just kinda freaks me out how the save file shows the base game when its mod is disabled. i know the save is still there and it'll probably put me right back where i was when i enable rhe mod again provided i dont accidentally load that save and use it for something but its still paranoid. The lag is a bit annoying for the cycle rooms, but it has been tolerable so far. my impression has been that most of the cycles are meant to be more reactive since they're often so close together that it seems like you can your route to their positions, but i haven't really tried to confirm that.

it's mostly a lot of chroma key and color correction filters along with this shader github.com/wlaub/stream/blob/main/camera.hlsl for the shaderfilter plus plugin. the first chroma key aggressively removes everything except the face. color correction desaturates and increases contrast. shader inverts brightness and then messed with the alpha channel. then a final color correction just reduces opacity to try to make it less visible when the screen isn't black.

The main mechanic is cool in concept, but its not something that really makes the gameplay feel good. It's a mechanic that actually takes control away from the player, and its just kind of used as a way to break the gameplay of the screen up into segments, where you do a bit of platforming, then you wait until you get to the next zipline to take you to more basic platforming. It would have been kinda neat if they had been used in more creative ways, or had been an entirely different mechanic altogether.

good content but try editing and add a voice-over
@iambadАй бұрын
these videos are edited to preserve continuity with additional runs manually marked for inclusion at play-time. when the death count for a room is sufficiently high, some runs may be included automatically by clustering on the death count, spawn position, and death position.

@@JSG-YT the dpad part of the overlay is pretty small since i don't normally use it, and my joystick doesn't always recenter to within the overlay deadzone when i let go, which could give the impression that it's in use when it isn't (you can see that it even appears off center in the final run where i used the keyboard).

:O IS THAT A JETPACK JOYRIDE REFERENCE!?
@FreekaNachuhАй бұрын
Thanks for enjoying my map, my friend! The story is one that I struggle with to this day, and it’s nice to learn that everyone experiences the same thing, because it helps you understand that you’re not alone in the process. Sometimes you just have to endure these experiences! Either way, GGs! ❤
@crystalgames7744Ай бұрын
The feedback is fair, but this is mostly just skill issue lol. You have infinite jumps for a reason, you were constantly using dashes, no wonder you can't align yourself right. And dying and coming back just to die again is smth common in Jetpack Joyride. The only problem being that there is no new content when you respawn so that's why it gets tedious. But honestly, I blame ADHD a little. Anyway, thanks for playing! And I hope at least this brought back some nostalgic memories for you!
@iambadАй бұрын
@@crystalgames7744 i hadn't heard of jetpack joyride before. i was using dashes because they seemed more consistent than jumps. i had assumed that the pacing issues i had came from trying to cram everything into a single level rather than developing things more gradually over the course of multiple levels in a standalone game, but i might also just not find the core gameplay that compelling as a matter of personal preference. i never got that deep into canabalt even though it was a pretty good game with a similar style of gameplay (i.e. press the button at the right time to dodge the obstacles). i also tend not to stick to arcade-style games that don't end (super crate box and skull pogo are both excellent games that i haven't played much), so i'm probably not a good match for the infinite runner structure.
@crystalgames7744Ай бұрын
@@iambad Oh wow you never played JJ?! Unexpected lol. But yeah, during the dev I was thinking to make the dashes finite, but that was bringing more problems. Also spent a lot of time making this map less janky so I can understand how it can be frustrating. Gg tho!
