Uma das músicas mais bonitas , elaboradas e cantadas do rock progressivo. Simplesmente JOHN ANDERSON - YES , Insubstituível .

Jon said when they recorded the studio version that finally we have produced our best ever work. This live version is every bit as amazing. Truly lovely and moving.

This is just all around amazing. Jon seems visibly moved, as anyone would be. I'm not sure there could be any better tribute to the majesty of his body of work than what was put together here. And also props to the *mixing engineer* for somehow capturing it in all its layered density. There were times I wanted to hear a bit more of the choir, partly because I'm transfixed by their arrangement, but it's an amazing mix of what sounds like 100 channels on the mixing console. Amazing.

I saw YES for the first time at Salford University in the late 60's when they supported Keith Emmerson's The Nice. Their version of Simon and Garfunkels America blew me away. The next time I saw them was at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester by which time they'd become the outstanding super group they still are today. Accrington sends you its best Jon

I'm 71 and still remember hearing The Yes Album for the first time on the plane that carried me, at 17, to my first military assignment. This recording of Awaken is phenomenal. I thought nothing could match the performance in Montreaux, Switzerland. My eyes and ears have been opened.

Starting with the “Master of images…” section, this piece is truly sublime, seeming to continually rise and tease us with the mysteries and infinite expanse of the universe. I’ve listened to this in its various forms since it came out on Going For the One in 1978, but this is my favorite version by far. I’d have to say this is probably my all time favorite live performance by anyone. I still get chills, lump in my throat and watery eyes. BTW, the band version from the Montreaux Jazz Festival is also good. The audience response at the end, and Jon Anderson’s response to the audience speaks to how incredibly moving this piece is, considering that most people who were there were probably hearing it for the first time.

Jon, I've been watching this a few times a year since it's come out over 10 yrs ago and it blows me away everytime. Out of respect for YES I won't say it's the best version of the song ever but, you get what I'm saying. My ONLY issue with it is the Bass. I may be nitpicking but, It needs more drive/grit on it like Chris would have had. That's it. I can die now. 😄

Why don't piano players ever play the intro correctly? It's not Chopin...or Liszt.
