This was six months ago but I’m very interested in learning more Viking/European crafts. Please direct me to KZbin channels that are similar to this channel in nature and please explain what happened to this channel??

Hello! I am glad you found our channel! I (Clovis/the guy in this video) produced a ton of classes during and just after the pandemic lock down ended. A lot of great content was created from SCA (Society of Creative Anachronism). Currently I am working on the motivation to make new content. In the mean time please check out some of my friends pages Barony of Lionsgate (Vancouver BC) www.youtube.com/@baronyoflionsgate2206/videos My friend Disa has a great channel with may great classes. www.youtube.com/@EarlySweden Kingdom of Midrealm (Indiana, Illinois, Ohio) www.youtube.com/@royaluniversityofthemidrealm I hope you find this useful Clovis

The problem with martial arts in the SCA is many requirements of the SCA requires protection that doesn't encompass none European fighting styles mostly Roman and medieval plate armors. It also includes a lot of protection not used in the time period. I would like to do Irish clothing but can't find much evidence as everything wet in Ireland rots so clothing and armor for Irish personas is difficult cept for a: the moy gown, liena , Brat trews and gillies .

This is absolutely fascinating and will repay close study. I'm coming from needing to adapt clothing to be comfortable and easy for me since I became disabled. Historical clothing seems to be saving me from reinventing the wheel

Gender matters. Do away with ladies and gentlemen and you do away with the SCA just like we're doing away with Western civilization. Otherwise, a good talk.

I put duck-cloth on both sides of my shield, no glue at all, stitching the edges together along the edge, then fold the 1/2in overlap and stitch that down along the back of the shield, and then I put on a coat of white primer or paint/primer you would use for covering and painting wood, before painting it, then just apply a few thin coats of clear matte-finish spray-on sealant. After that, I just poke a spike through the holes along the edge and for the handle (and arm strap), trying not to tear the fabric but just go through the weave.

A persona in the SCA is like a persona in professional wrestling, it's a reflection of what you're wearing and what role you're playing so that people will know who you are and can cheer you on when you step onto the field.

I realize this is a couple of years old, but to prevent your canvas from absorbing too much paint you can first put down a layer of wood glue and water and when it dries apply a warm iron if it warps at all. The wood glue is very flexible and won't crack. It's much cheaper than paint, and your paint layer will waterproof it as well.

so you think it is important for diversity and inclusiveness to ban me from speaking about my being bullied and harrassed for disability and ethnicity, that harrassment resulting in me suing the sca inc and recieving ten thousand dollars damages. ??? you are proof that if one has been harrassed and bullied in the sca you will alway be harrassed and bullied.
