I rather replace with another shower column system. Nice pro job, very skillful. Our plumbing contractors (in the US) just leave a huge hole and walk away leaving it for the finisher to do the patching/painting. I must say matching the existing paint job is not easy even with the same paint, sometimes need to do the whole wall to make it look right.
