Yep. 2000+ miles on it doing day trips most at interstate speeds. I can move the trailer around with one hand since it weighs about 400 lbs empty. Pull 2 pins to take it apart and fit into my toyhauler so i can haul from camp to trail heads. Also registered and 100% road legal. But thanks for the useless opinion

Like your video. Thinking of doing something like this. The battery is my concern how does one know what AH to get. How long on a average can you run on the 35AH?
@Domin1312 жыл бұрын
I would say a 35ah is the smallest I would recommend. Bigger battery means more weight but bigger battery equals more run time. I could get a solid 6 hrs out of mine but I'm also usually running it very slow while I'm pitching and flipping brush and flooded trees on smaller lakes.

really great video so thanks, can i ask a couple of questions, it looks like you had to cut a large panel out for the rear to attach the motor bracket, where did you get the replacement sealed unit? also mi think that you said that you also reduced the length of the motor, how is that done? also how easy was it to remove the handle from the motor? any advise would be great as looking to try and replicate as this is the best motor set up i have seen.
@Domin1313 жыл бұрын
I didnt have to cut anything out to attach motor bracket. Only thing I cut was a hole for the access hatch and a smaller hole for the minn kota plug. Shaft is easily shortened by popping the head off the motor and cutting shaft then redrilling a hole for the screw that mounts the head. Handle is easily shortened by taking head apart and removing the collapsible handle.

Great video. Love everything except recommending wirelesstrollingpro company. I went with them because of this video. Poor quality parts and the worst possible customer service you can imagine. Takes weeks of follow ups to get a response. Even then, they are willing to lie. Do not trust this company!

Sorry you had a bad experience. This video is 5 years old and I had no issues purchasing or during a warranty exchange with WTP 5 years ago.

WARNING!!!!! WARNING!!!! I would not recommend you to buy the product from the Wireless Trolling Pro brand. I purchased it 6 months ago and they have not responded to many of my inquiries of when it will ship. Very poor customer service and I have not heard great things from other people in the community. Be cautious when dealing with this company

Great video, thank you so much for putting together. Its the main one Dad/I are using to build out my kayak. We're about 70% done. About to do the wiring. The wires coming from motor.... The motor spins with power to black/red with nothing at all attached to 3rd and 4th wire. Do you have to attach those? Thank you Craig

Great video. Wish I'd have found it sooner. As one of the other comments said, I've found my winter project. Just a couple of questions if you have time. Did you bump up the wire gauge to go from the front of the kayak to the back? Also when you transport do you remove the battery or leave it in your kayak. Thank you.
@Domin1312 жыл бұрын
Didn't bump up gauge. And yes usually I'll take out the entire battery box during transport

Wireless trolling motor pro are no good. Had to send mine in 4 times, each time they kept it anywhere from 2-6 months at a time. Bought an honest wireless control last time they replaced it with a wired one but never gave me any money back and it lasted less than a day on the water. Not one time on the water did it work correctly for more than 1 hour on the water. Stuck wide open in reverse one time on a 55 pound thrust trolling motor that they said it would work on. Live and learn from my mistake. Do not buy a wireless trolling motor pro.

Amazing! I wish I could build all that myself on my Thresher. It is a bit overwhelming. Not sure how you wired the circuit breaker to the battery or the controller. Great job though. What size is that battery? ...and are the connections you created on the box for red and black, the same that is used for coaxial cables?

I like it but its probably the most complicated troller motor set up i e seen on a kayak. You basically need a machine shop and a engineering degree to do this setup lol! Ive seen some kayak that they litterly got the same results but a lot less work. So it would definitely not be one to try and imitate. I can tell he spent a lot of time on it.

The only thing that sucks is you have to use this troller moter for now on that are have a but of holes in youre kayak.

I can switch from my motor back to the rudder in less than a minute. And the holes don't matter because none of them leak

@troytorman11316 жыл бұрын
jayrough I have a cable from one of the tie down hooks in the bed of my truck to a big caribiner that hooks to my front handle and doesn’t let the yak come off the end of the tailgate. I just get the bow up and hook it to the caribiner and simply walk back to the back of the kayak and push it in. Made it soooooo much easier. I also use the stand assist strap to help get the bow up.
