Got locked out the day this podcast dropped. Still remeber coming home from work and breaking into my apartment only to hear this. RIP THE KING

They mention around 41:50 or so to not buy a predatory game to send a message to devs, but I would argue even that doesn't solve anything now. I haven't bought a Madden or 2K sports game for over a decade and both of those games still make money hand over fist with super predatory mechanics, largely because they shoehorn you into microtransactions by frustrating you with everything else in the game and they usually give out free codes by the hundreds of thousands to offset people not buying the game with billions in MUT or MyTeam/MyFaction earnings. Not buying the game doesn't really solve things like it used to. There needs to be either a reform forced by a higher power than the industry itself or a complete collapse of the industry. Seems we're almost guaranteed to head for the latter at this rate.

I like this video game history as told by people who followed the industry at the time way more than all those videos of 14 year olds reading wikipedia.

Some of y'all in the comments are wild lol. This person has posted *350 highlight clips.* They've already given so much to the community. If that's all they upload then so be it! It almost sounds like those people who comment "dead game" on a single player game that's 5 years old.

Coming back after Starfield.. Jeff and Vinny are absolutely right. To sit there and say "we shouldn't be disappointed because it's Bethesda, and that's what is expected" is a joke. It's what has led to such an apathetic industry that just throws out the same tripe again and again, with little to NO improvement. Bethesda is a disaster, and has stagnated since 2011.. That's 13 years ago for god's sake.

Meh. Jeff's point is overstated, since when these remakes are released of various games, they are some of the best games that come out. It turns out a lot of the time, you can provide consumer a better experience by remastering games than by making new ones.

The ultimate in how much they turned me off was the day after I got my PS4 Pro, they offered the PS4 Pro at the same price point I got a deal on, WITH Battlefront 2 attached, and I felt like I got the better deal by not artificially inflating their sales count by waiting a single day to gain that console bundle.
