good luck witgh the new plot Will, my best guess for the mystery large leaf plant is some type of Hosta, if it is, all parts are edible, eaten a lot in Asia, expecially the new shoots

Don't forget to set your gooseberry branches free.. they need good airflow and a goblet shape with centre open
