Combat engineers carrying their demolition equipment in the boats. E.g. the "pipes" falling off one of the boats are 'bangalore torpedoes', tubes with explosives for quickly clearing minefields. Edit: spelling error.

@@lxdead5585 Who made the ammunition which was actually fired that day? Who made the clothes and webbing which let them take that ammunition with them? Also ironic to post this under footage from The Longest Day, since that film has a female French Resistance fighter. (and the comment was talking about the war as a whole anyway)
@lxdead5585 Жыл бұрын
@@Pte.Fletcher I get Your point with "Who made the ammunition which was actually fired that day? Who made the clothes and webbing which let them take that ammunition with them?" But tell me: how many women lost their life during making of ammunition? How many died while making the uniforms? I'm not gonna deny the FACT, there there were women fighting alongside man. FACT is, those were exceptions, these women joined resistance (in majority), cuz they wanted to, not cuz they had to. And seriously, how many women DID take part in D-Day? None.
