I’d love to hear more of your thoughts on horses or anything else of interest. Looking for sane, sensible, intelligent conversation on many topics. Had enough of the screaming doom sayers on mainstream channels.

Can you wet her hoof and let it soak in and maybe the hoof will loosen up so it will be easier to cut? Will that work?

That's the first time I've heard that a horse had arthritis. I mean not that they can't but that's just the first time I've heard that

Great video! Don't worry about justifying yourself to 1 or 2 yuppie larva about how you handle yourself as you take care of the horses. Crybabies will always cry about something to make themselves feel better 😂😂😂😂

My aunt has a ranch and had several horses when i was growing up. Through her, i learned you're never supposed to trim the frog. Something about there being nerve endings and such in there. Imagine the terror on my face the first time I saw a ferrier trim the frog! But having seen it several times now, it doesn't freak me out like it did before *and now I finally know why the frog should be trimmed*

This reminds me of people who leave their dogs chained up for years. Why have an animal if the intent to ignore it? Maybe horse owners should be required to take classes in equine care or be fined. I guess animal abuse is more widespread than we can imagine. Neglect is despicable.

@Caleb Erickson, this might be a strange ques; but I’ve always wanted to marry a Farrier. I don’t own a horse- I used to ride. Where would you suggest I go to find one without calling a Farrier? That would be extremely weird…. Thanks 😂 I live in Michigan; but I didn’t see any Farrier contests here (I’m in the suburbs of Detroit)

I’ve always wondered, at least on older arthritic horses why one doesn’t use a grinder just to make the process faster? I know absolutely nothing, so please excuse if this is a stupid question.

That looks like really hard work for sure. I do wonder if a shoe would help her? I am used to draft horses having shoes although I agree barefoot is natural and 'healthy'.
