I always thought New Leaf looked great, even on the 2DS.

I do want to defend Isabelle a bit here in the fact she’s one of the biggest characters for Nintendo in modern day, including the fact that Animal Crossing New Horizons became the second most sold game for the switch shows that Animal Crossing is popular. Even in 50% cut Isabelle would probably be a last resort character

TomoDachi life was the first game I bought for my 3DS and I mean, come on, it's amazing. I would love to see a switch port. And hopefully that would show Nintendo that we WANT Miis. Do I think it will happen? I'm not sure. Will I be glad if he does? 100%. But I'm not gonna be disappointed if it doesn't either, at least not extremely disappointed. I think it's good to have hope, as long as you keep it in check so you don't get overly upset if it doesn't happen.

Look, I understand your logic for over representation for Fire Emblem because they have a different cast for each game, however that’s the exact same thing with Pokémon. Pokémon is THE #1 MEDIA FRANCHISE IN THE WORLD (even beating Mickey Mouse) and they only have two more (if you count Pokémon trainer as 3 separate fighters, which you really shouldn’t). If they really wanted to represent multiple protagonists why didn’t the do the same thing with Hero? The fact that fire emblem has EIGHT characters while Sonic has ONE is insane. And sure, it’s popular in Japan, but no where NEAR the same level of popularity as Pokemon which it’s practically tied with in terms of representation. PS You cut Ice Climbers, one of the most dominant forces of the competitive scene up there with Metaknight… but kept Min Min??

Personally, i don't think that many of the dlc characters are good ideas to keep. The reason a lot of them worked so well was the hype they produced, and you can't really recreate that. Along with that, many of them would probably be extremely difficult to get licensing for again (Sora especially would be almost impossible to get rights for with both Square and Disney apparently being difficult to get rights to characters with)

Ice Climbers and Meta Knight hurt so badly when I saw them gone. The Ice Climbers are my mains, and, while I never play Meta Knight, he is extremely iconic and of major importance to the Kirby series.

It's been awhile since I last played Ultimate after selling my old Switch, and I will say that I would keep some of my favs Rosalina and Palutena (Never played as her but I'm a n ew Kid Icarus fan so.. ye) but I personally think this could make a good roster for a Smash Reboot. Because not only do we get to keep most of the DLC fighters from ultimate, they can shake things up by updating movesets for past characters (Like freaking Ganondorf) and give them more things to accurately represent their franchises as it is currently. Edit: I kinda spoke too soon when you said "That was BABY Mode" but the final product is still a good roster for a reboot though. Honestly my preferred Smash Roster cut compared to some others

I think of smash as more of a celebration of nintendo personally. i try not to think of it in such an elitist manner like others since most characters on the roster don’t scream “gaming legends” but if you think of it like i do, it makes more sense. I do agree with most of the cuts tho lol

Great video!!! 🥰 I think New Leaf was objectively a better game. New Horizons was fun, but also, elephant in the room, Covid screwed that game up. To get the basic diving, cooking, farming, extra storage update , gyroids, etc TWO YEARS afterwards, I think ultimately hurt the fan base regardless of sales. Also, why is Nooks Cranny only upgradable ONCE?! C’mon Nintendo?? New Leaf upgraded Nooks 3 separate times, soooo immensely satisfying! I’m right there with you about being an Immersive, and it sucked with New Horizons I had to adapt and become a more Customizer. Now granted I upgraded all my buildings, terraformed my island several times, played big and won at the stalk market several times, and got a 5 star island… but like you said I missed the daily interactions with Dr Shrunk, or getting a new haircut with Harriet, or getting my fortune read everyday, etc. And then we they did the update like you said in New Leaf that was unreal!! I was already enjoying the growth of my town but then was like “oh there’s more?!” In NH you still have a lot of those things but you fly to a different island and… it just feels disjointed a lot of the time. I know the special animals “visit” but I wish it was part of the island(like a Main Street in NL like you said) Ok last thing. NH multiplayer blows. It sucks. I can’t think of how many times I’d visited an island and was kicked off due to connectivity issues!! Wtf Nintendo?! Did you not think when everyone was at home and be online that connectivity should be addressed?! In 2020!!! So f’n stupid. With New Leaf I NEVER had one connection issue, not even once. I’d play multiplayer, and catch bugs and do races and goof off and it was ALWAYS stable and fun!! 😍😍 The ironic thing is that I think I spent 3 times as much time in NH but it was nowhere NEAR as satisfying as the shorter time I spent in New Leaf. And yeah I wish animals would just up and leave in NH. I’ve been trying to force one of my villagers out but to no avail and I’ve been trying for 2 years lol 😂 Anyway just a great video and retrospective and totally agree with pretty much all you said. NH was good but a lot of busy work, where NL was just satisfying through and through so often. 😊 And yeah, music is Goated in NL. Gonna listen to it now! 😎👊

I don’t think that a 10% chance of bp showing up in a dark world is entirely accurate. Something that seems to be clueing in as to who will join us next is character portraits. Unlike the M.U.T.Ts, he had no character portrait in undertale (to my knowledge), and the fact that he has one now piques my interest. One of the issues I don't see brought up enough with Tomodachi Life is the incest issue because holy shit, I don't want to resort to save editing just so family members don't get feelings for each other.

My biggest problem with New Horizons is that it gave TOO much customization. With things like terraforming and placing furniture outside, I'm just left overwhelmed with choices and end up doing nothing with it. It's why I love interior design and the town design of New Leaf (and even City Folk); limited space inspires so much more creativity in me. It sucks because town customization feels like the only thing that there is to do in New Horizons. also the music is painfully bland and i wish i could turn it off

Your rule for the roster is basically “remain every worthy character”, but you should consider that they might cut some of big character purposely to retain the hype.

The real problem is too much gen1 reps. We could have Deci. We could have Infernape or Blaziken. We could have so much and yet they chose to keep the frickin gen 1s. Im sorry but pichu is useless
