This is the problem with modern day minimalism. Rick Owens is also minimalism. Julius is also minimalism. JJJound is successful due to Kanye. He got the Ye co-sign. The only reason the brand is somewhat relevant is due to the New Balance Collab. That’s it. This brand is ass. Let’s keep it a stack. Minimalism is killing art. The 3% rule is for terrible designers. Virgil was not a great designer.

jjjjound definitely did not come out of nowhere. justin was part of the tumblr come up along with convoy, the sartorialists, mood, decapitate animals, schedvin etc. jjjjound ran with classic design lines along with a longing for nostalgic brands. the tumblr created a lifestyle brand through curated images. it was a grown up oasis in a desert of streetwear disposable crap. good expose' but a bit misinformed. he courted brands that he curated (via images) on his tumblr from the start and in the past few years has branched to newer brand collaborations. to compare jjjjound to any streetwear brand is just way off mark. my opinion of course.

How could you mention the people that hop on brands and you judging GD for their shirts. A basic shirt at that. They themselves even call em souvenir tees. They are known for their flared pants and hand-made/1of1 pieces. The critique on the shirt is valid but you ain't getting the GD experience. At least no where near to give an accurate or even representative take on the brand. That's like judging LV based on buying a their basic shirts. Like no shit its overpriced. Buying a basic shirt is the entry into the brand and clearly doesn't speak for the brand as a whole.

I'd say it's worth it. I'm literally just paying for their logo on it.

Terrible brand, awful customer services, questionable products in reality. Have ordered twice directly from gallery dept & the quality of the products has been atrocious. First I ordered LA flare jeans in blue, style and design was fine, but they were an inch short in the leg. I also ordered a white cap, which has yellow stains on it, almost like sweat marks. When contacted, they took no liability for this & didn’t acknowledge the poor quality - £1800 down. I then ordered the black LA flares & luckily these were the right size, but there wasn’t anything black about them, more like dark green/grey. Rip off company. All of the images for what I claim are on their reviews on yelp, the only place they have any reviews.

I’m not tryna hate, but I bought a chrome hearts hoodie once and it was the cheapest “name brand” hoodie I ever touched. It was straight garbage. I got it on the real real just to see what the hype was about and it was laughable for me. I’ve owned Gucci and Amiri hoodies that are made of Japanese cotton, super heavy, and feel nice. I feel chrome hearts is the new “supreme”, cheap products priced at wild prices. Remember all those box logos that used to sell for thousands all the time? They were just Hanes t shirts with a printed on box. But besides that the pages you showed to cop rare items were on point, you’re giving all the secrets away as far as where to buy haha

Gallery Dept is everything that’s wrong with high fashion today. Price gouging asshole who takes literally the most basic designs possible slaps them on faded blanks, throws some paint on it and charges $600. They deserve zero recognition. Go buy your own $7-$10 blanks, and paint something meaningful while wearing them if you want that look while saving hundreds.
