I lived in Rose Hill then, and we got clobbered also...no power for 8 days, very hot, and I must have been the only one in my neighborhood without a generator...(lol). Hard to sleep with the heat (no breeze) and constant roar of the generators. Showered at a lady friend"s house in Wallace, she had no power either, but did have water, albeit COLD water. Lost 14 pine trees in the yard, although none hit the house. I had just finished cleaning up the yard from Bertha...

Used to go there at Barnacle Bills as a kid..Me and my wife went not long after Fran to look..It was the last time I saw what was left of the place and pier..Sad

Very sad, we drove down in Dec, that year and the damage was still evident. It was so eerie seeing no sand dunes left, such a shame for our beloved Topsail Island....

I remember even a year later it was bad. that winter huge piles of debris bulldozed into piles everywhere... construction standards have improved since then... I think. however population density over all areas has probably quadrupled since then

Very nice aerial views of greater Miami! First South Beach, then the Port of Miami, then downtown with it's enormous amounts of skyscrapers, then flying over Little Havana and the Marlins baseball stadium! Ah beautiful Miami!

Don't remember exactly where I was for this shot. I move around a lot when other ships were nearby. Cruise was OK. We usually cruise Royal Caribbean but I found a good price on this one so we drove down from North Carolina and spent time with friends in Orlando area before boarding. Just back from family cruise on Oasis of the Seas. Now THAT's a big cruise ship.

Well lets compare the two cruise lines (And your ship will sink faster and more easily if the size is larger) -decor (RCI - crappy Disney - Pretty) -entertainment (RCI - fun for a few days, gets boring later Disney - fun never stops) -food (RCI - eh Disney - gourmet food for free with a delicious and unique taste for every restauarant. -staff service (RCI - filthy dust all over your desk, staff gets aggravated to easily Disney - Pleasuring service with staff that treats you like a king -incident (RCI - 2 ship fires Disney - A minor crash) Personal island (Coco Cay - Staff swarms you because you didn’t buy anything. Castaway Cay - Includes slides, adult area, children area, trolleys, an entire club for kids, food is also free.

i was on that i got sea sick
