It's somewhat cool that they've chosen him but people saying he is a Samurai is wrong. Offical records state he was a retainer with Nobunaga. Now a Retainer in Feudal Japan is not the same term we have here more akin to a "Ronin" who is serving under either a Samurai or higher status person. And seeing as he was serving as Nobunagas personal retainer one of a few I would assume he held equal respect to many Samurai of the time. Though the records of this individual are far and few between with many differences between stories and texts but still the hate it's getting isn't quite as deserved as people might think. Hate on the pricetag not the story which we haven't even seen or played yet.

There is literally one black man in japans history. He fought for Oda Nobunaga. During sengoku Jidai. Dude was a samurai for Nobunaga, until Oda was betrayed and killed, not sure what happened to the black samurai. Chances are he was executed. But he was not a shinobi or “assassin” Bad move for Ubisoft. Is it too much to ask for some historical realism in a historical game?!?!??
