I brought an aftermarket oil pan from Rock Auto, and it was painted on the inside. Your video confirmed my gut feeling. I ended up buying another one for $130 AU is better than destroying an original number matching motor.

@@haagentwat all good man you seem to have the basics of it down 👌👌 If your recording a video for tiktok or anything like that vertical is definitely the way to go but with a regular youtube video try and get into the habit of recording in landscape. Edit i just looked at your channel and i guess you do know how to recorded in landscape my bad lol. Also thought i had already subd but i am now

That’s not blowbye that’s just crankcase vent that leads to the intake. Normal for smoke to come out of that
@haagentwat7 ай бұрын
If an engine is weak you can tell by the amount of blowby coming out of the crank case vent . The crank case vent is there to relieve excess pressure in the crank case due to the pistons pumping and from combustion gases getting past the piston rings into the crank case which is called blowby . All engines have a slight bit of blow by when new and definitely all engines have some blow by as they get older and worn out

No reason to be painting the inside of a pan anyway as the oil will do a good enough job of preserving the metal on the inside on it's own.

how much did it cost you? asking because i got small rust issues and ive read everywhere that its better to get a new body and mount your motor and trans to it.
@haagentwat Жыл бұрын
It didn’t cost me very much at the time to do because I was able to use all the welders and tools at the metal shop I worked in , all I had to pay for was the new metal that I used . It did take me and my brother roughly 60 hours each of labour (120hrs roughly total ) to fix the just the passenger side of the car .
@antador8200 Жыл бұрын
Lol 😂 get a new body and just “mount your motor & trans” to it, just like that, you can even use basic hand tools, you gonna call auto zone and ask for a “new body” and install it in your driveway?
@haagentwat Жыл бұрын
