This life is different in this century, photo voltaic panels really was a game changer....no more oil lamps and candle and the pv powered electric fences really help with horses on the long acre.

@@living_silence yes specifically. I'm having a hard time finding one. I'd like to buy one or make one. I figure if they're too expensive I could make one out of a truck chassis.

I've met several people, over the years, living this way. Always really wanted too also. Too dangerous on the roads here now. The people I knew who actually lived in wagons quit back in the '40's because cars were crashing into them frequently even then. I've taught my horses to drive & have been a slave to them for decades. Always love seeing people traveling with horses.

People are obsessed with living off-grid but it's so much better for the environment to export excess electricity to the grid when your batteries are full than just going to waste. And in return you can but electricity from the grid on an odd occasion you run out.

WoW ❤ respect him a lot! He talks from heart and the truth indeed ✨ we can live without depending on the utilities and supermarkets..ect. We are much more deep within and we can access our trueself easier if we are in harmony with nature 🌞🌳🐿️😍 I am just moving out of the city to a forest into a self-sustainable little house where I use water from the ground, energy via solar panels and heating with woods. Also I recycle the water that I use in the house for watering the plants in my garden / so I don’t use any chemicals, only natural and hand made product for cleaning&washing. Plus I was with hands and soap, no water waste after flushing the toilte, but I use compost toilet. And I have a loyal dog who is my best friend and security guard too 😀🐾🥰

France is a very special land for those that have the fortune of 'free spirit'. I have lived here for 29 years of my life (62 years) The first 10 in the Foreign Legion and after off grid with my animals. The couple traveling in this reportage have richess that money just cannot buy!!!

Very inspiring. This has been my first month with no electricity. Here in Norway the gouverment ruins more and more nature and displaces the animal who lives there. They claim that we need more electricity. But the truth is they´re going to export it to other countries. I no longer want to be part of it, so this is my quiet little protest. Trying to be the change I want in the world. This means I can no longer have running water in the house, because if I´m away, in the winter-time, the plumming will freeze and break. Luckily I have a stream not far from my house where I can collect water. 😊 Glad I found your channel. Greetings from Norway. ❤

This is really cool. It makes you think of what society gives to you and what does it takes to. Loneliness is a big trigger to stay in a crowded city and do what others do. Off grid also can mean isolation I guess 🧐

Do you think you can be happy living off-grid like this? He seemed really at peace when I met him, but I'm not sure how long that fulfilment will last. Also, before living in that gazebo he built very cool clay houses, but the police came and destroyed everything, he didn't want to waste time and energy to redo all that and went for the gazebo.

Yes, after the Norman Conquest! They took everything and then allowed the original inhabitants to lease their own land back, and have to pay taxes and give over most of their product to the usurpers and murderers!😢

There’s a difference between living ‘off grid’ and being homeless and living in a gazebo in the woods because you can’t afford a proper roof over your head.

Living off-grid isn't something that is that well defined, anyone that lives without the need for money is living off-grid. But in order to truly live off-grid in my option you have to be like our ancestors that cultivated their own food, had animals around etc, then you are producing your own food all year round, and you are truly living off-the grid.
@living_silence
@living_silence 7 ай бұрын
I totally agree with you@@Radzig.Kobyla This term is often abused for sure as the real life off the grid is not that popular. But I think any kind of inspiration towards a different way of living that mainstream society force us to follow it's worth showing.

That's what's interesting about Daniel. He was an homeless when living in London but then moving in a forest not far from there he found a new definition of living and (in my opinion) he shift his thoughts from depending on the mercy of others to be self-sufficient. It's hard to show that self sufficiency in a 3 min video but I saw it. And don't be fool by the gazebo, when he first moved to that land he built amazing clay houses just with his hands, but after a year (some newspaper also wrote about it) police came and destroyed those, so he said he didn't want to wast more time in doing the same thing and simply used a gazebo.

Better get used to living like this, once the government accomplishes its goal of mass unfettered immigration you will be replaced with tens of millions of "migrants" and they get first priority, think I'm joking? Just look at what's going on right now!! I know this isn't the place to post this, but awareness is the first step in fixing a problem and this problem is affecting us all, or will be shortly!!

Oh" how I wish I could speak french. I did travel throughout the nineties Me and my partner converted a motor coach. We travelled for 5 years in that ~ And then in an old gypsy caravan we worked with circuses in order to survive. I thoroughly enjoyed the circus work, but most of all living that sort of lifestyle. It suited me. Now I consider doing it again but this time horse drawn although I know nothing about keeping horses. ,,, I am assured it is quite easy to pick up keeping horses that is. The only thing is that in England it is virtually illegal to live that lifestyle now. So I would have to move to france or another european country. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your video.

Fantastic, I am new to the Earthship concept. Living in Ireland I thought is would be more difficult to live off grid given our climate. Its such a logical way to live. Both humans and the Earth would be much happier if we all lived like this. 👏✌

The main issues with an earthsip in Ireland would probably be more likely planning related honestly, also good luck getting a mortgage for any non "standard" built home. If you had enough land where no one else could see the house and enough money to need no mortgage, you could do the build yourself, you might get away with it (emphasis on the might, while risking a large fine and potential imprisonment)

Thanks very much for the inspiring videos. I've been wanting a life like this for the past 15 years. However my wife doesn't have the same world view as I do. Now I have 2 children to raise before I can leave these toxic societal norms behind. At least I was able to leave my high paying, stressful, extractive, consumerist IT career during the plandemic. I traded it in for one of a lowly gardener spending my days in nature, participating in the seasonal cycle of life.

Hi Alex. Leaving this mainstream society is not a quick step, but you seem to be on the right path. Our lives are embedded in the toxic world from the moment we were born. Don't overthink. Instead take the opportunity to teach your kids how to stay pure in this society. I'm happy to hear you gave up the IT career. Not feeling dependent on money is a very big step. Wishing you all the best 🙌
