If you fish in the river like that, use a rig with a heavy weight on the bottom of the line and a hook with a worm that is tied 3 or so feet above the weights.

I hope your alternator is at least 180amp because 60a DC to DC needs that at tick over to avoid heating

What a beautiful build. I like that it’s an Econoline150 and a simple build. Well done!

honestly, the best part is your sage advice on how to just go for it, to not wait, to not be so tied up with being perfect. to let go of the intimidation and just start. thank you so much for your super wise words!!!

omg thanks so much -- I am feeling hopeful I can do this, LOL! Does anyone out there happen to know if Lowe's might also screw the holes into wood for me though? I don't think I can access a drill where I am ... (already on the road...) Thanks so much Felicia and whoever chimes in re: Lowe's too! :)

Never solder lugs on wire. Solder is 12 times less conductive than copper. Crimping is the only method you should consider. What will happen is there will be heat generated at the connections limiting current. Obviously it depends on your highest current draw but solder connections could fail in high current situations. You never see an a high current, large wire engine starter with soldered connections.

I'm new to this space and my first question is, when I look at the money, why not get a camper? Then you get the shower and toilet, and no need to build. Just wondering why people lean toward the van builds over a camper? I do like the idea of the van so I can pull a trailer.

...what was the brand name of the chinese diesel heater?? ...Im doing a van build ..or a box truck build actually. Floor insulation is not that important ...ceiling is first and walls second.

If you don’t mind me asking, is the 150 enough? Would you get a 250 if you were to do it again? Are you feeling you have enough room?

My wife and I are in the process of building out our chevy express campervan and just made almost the same trip. We did 8 days o thru labor day weekend and added a few more stops, like pictured rocks and Fayette. We found some really awesome dispersed camping spots because of an amazing map this dude on a michigan motocamping site made! I'm going to try and send it to yall and maybe we'll run into you guys someday! Sweet videos and info and awesome van build!

Wait. How is your BF fitting with a 64 inch length? That's just a little over 5'3". Wouldn't you want 72"? Then you move your seats up to sleep.

I thought I posted a question about the ignition wire going to D+ on the DC2DC charger. I saw it jumped in the beginning of the video and then a wire coming out of it later in the video. Is the the wire that goes to the ignition to shut off the DC2DC charger when the engine is running?
