The double edged sword is that they certainly wouldn't have been as big as quickly without Diddy, but as quickly as he gave them a career, he took it away. Their first album was already a sign of what would happen in 2024 (sexually exploiting kids), but when they did their second album, even they were uncomfortable and it showed, leading to the music alienating fans. It's a shame because the talent was there for a successful girl group for a number of years, but unless you genuinely think you're making new fans to cover for the ones you're losing, it's pointless. Christina Aguilera would learn that lesson, and she was an adult who could have done anything she wanted. As soon as I saw the music video for Krazy, with all the gratuitous booty popping, I knew the party was basically over. Her fans may have been a year older, but they still weren't going to buy this. It's one thing to grow as a group, but you can't be so different from what made you successful that you basically have to start from scratch and nobody's buying it because they know it's not really you. As a 19 or 20 year old guy, I was more than happy to see that stuff, but I knew they'd lost something and it didn't feel authentic.

I remember when we did He loves me He loves me not in junior high... I didn't remember in the choreography and I embarrassed the girls next to me so bad that she stalked off with me begging her to not be mad at me by the lockers I guess she did forgive me but I think she left next year and we didn't keep in touch. I wasn't even her first choice so it's kind of weird that you put so much effort and energy into something with someone you don't even keep in contact with😅

I'm so glad I'm not a musician because I would never, ever want to get into the music business. What a nightmare and Sean Combs is going to prison for life.

WOW! I learned so much about Dream I never knew. I still have their Dream album and listen to it every now and then. I did get really lucky one day. I got to see them perform in opening act for Pink at Universal Studios. I was walking pass the stadium when Dream was practicing. I was singing the song and happen to tell my mom how much I loved this song. A security guard stopped me and asked me you like this song. He Loves U not. I said yes. He then asked would you like to see them? To be honest I didn't know the name of the group at the time because it was so new on the radio. I just knew I loved the song. So I begged my mom and stepdad to let me go to the concert to see Dream and Pink. The security guard got all four of us in with free tickets. I got front row. I was so excited. When dream game out I felt like I was in a dream because I couldn't believe it was happening. My first concert ever. The girls had came close to the edge to shake hands and Melissa shaked mine. It was so exciting. Once pink got on stage I got to listen to pink sing like two songs and my stepdad wanted to leave to ride the rides. I will be forever grateful that the security guard gave me the opportunity to see Dream. But to know now that they never got paid makes me cry for them. They were amazing and I always wondered what happened to them. I'm glad they are happy in their new adventures in life. Dream will always be my favorite girl group. I will treasure my Dream CD forever. I pray that one day they get paid and justice will be served. Thank you for this video.

What's crazy is I was more excited to see Dream then Pink but yet Pink is so famous now and I bet her tickets are really expensive now. So yes I was lucky for sure to see them both for free. The only sad thing is. In that day and age I didn't have a cell phone that could take pictures or a camera. So I have no pictures of this day only memories. Memories I hope I never forget.

This is awesome find. I knew Holly and Diana were close and Ashley and Melissa were close but I never knew if Holly was close with Ashley and Melissa, or if Ashley was close with Dianna and Holly. It’s a shame later in 2002 they would be pretty much done as a group.

Whats funny here is that its said they were rushed so quickly to change their image as more mature and xesual at such a young age, but when Miley Cyrus, and other Disney girls did it after them, it was so widely accepted.

I remember back then as a 17-18 year old thinking they were so hot and talented, so of course, hearing Diddy describe them as "sexy" flew right over my head. As an adult, the idea of a 30 year old man calling 14-16 year olds "sexy" is creepy as hell and we should have seen the warning signs. These girls deserved so much better. Everyone credits Diddy for their success, and granted, the songs were all approved by him as well as their presentation, but you need more than that to be as successful as they were. They had charisma, were relatable, beautiful and certainly young girls saw themselves in them. It shows how little Diddy had to do with it besides giving them the platform when he decided to take girls who were just a year older and turn them into glorified strippers. I'm hardly a prude, but you don't sexualize kids who can't consent yet like that and dangle their careers in the air if they don't do what you say. It's pretty telling that their fans didn't identify with the changes. Diddy was clearly aiming for guys his age with their presentation and because they had talent, they appealed to kids their own age on the first album. The problem was that the second album took it up 10 notches with the sexuality and their main fain base was left totally confused. If you're some 30 year old pervert who just wants to watch teenagers pop their asses in the air, chances are you're not ballsy enough to buy their music at the store. Back then, you couldn't just buy stuff online. It was either illegal downloads or HMV. You always have to consider your audience. Diddy never did that and Dream were an accidental success because they connected with an audience I don't think Diddy expected them to.

To me it's insane to think they were 17-18 in the "crazy" video. The styling takes away any trace of youth, freshness, energy, everything a teen stands in...
