This is the former site of the Valley Crest mobile hole park, owned by American Borate Company, where employees working at the Billie Mine lived. I worked at the mine and lived here in 1982, in a trailer right across the street from the swimming pool and tennis courts. You can see the location of the pool in your video (now a peanut shaped hole filled with gravel).

I've driven both. Both are fun. Old Priest grade is much quicker. A lot of locals use it.

I have a brother on the Olympic Peninsula and friends in Seattle but can't afford to live there. This windshield tour was well presented and warrants further investigation as a retirement place.

not a retirement place...nothing to do here, no good shopping stores...high prices...bad roads...,,lived here my whole life and love it but have to go to Olympia if you want to shop

There is a Walmart, a hospital, hardware store, restaurants, etc. I noticed a lot of new businesses in this video since I moved from Aberdeen but also some of the old downtown buildings are gone.

How can you tell? Trying to work out how stars appear to rotate still isn't clicking...trying to apply how the sun tracks isn't enough. I suppose it's to do with globally where the sky is seen? Tilt of the Earth? Time to Google. Finally the algorithm delivered something interesting.

Do you know if US 50 is similar like this video in mid-December? Or will there be more snow? I'll be driving from Sacramento the Lake Tahoe in December. a bit worried about snow storm and icy road.
