Interestingly enough this version almost reverses the two perspectives. In the original of course the "I Don't Care" singer is The Devil playing the unavailable Byronic anti heroic singer to seduce the crowd. The backup singers are simply there to add that hypnotic approach as a counter. The more they come after him, the more he has them in his power and the more he wins them and the audience, including Margaret and Stanley over. In this one the power dynamic shifts. The "I'm Bedazzled" singer is the one who's trouble. He's obsessed, and potentially a stalker. The "I Don't Care" singer is now the backup as she tries to give her reasons for not wanting to be with him and he becomes more frantic. She starts out arrogant and cold but becomes quieter and more terrified as he becomes more persistent. Oddly enough this version is almost more like the other song in Bedazzled, "Love Me" with its frequent pleas for the romantic object to return the Speaker's affections but alters slightly. "Love Me" was more pathetic, emotional, and desperate and more innocent not realizing how crazy he sounds. This one is more sinister, obsessive, and darker because he probably knows that he's dangerous and is willing to hurt her to get her attention no matter how much she argues.

Gitane had written that song about me, I never understood what it was about, as I wasn't that troubled... It was a great time in our lives. Recorded in a bunker underneath the Vondelpark bridge, Amsterdam. In another song of that single, you can hear the rumbling of the trams above. NB

Love the aesthetic, but not the sentiment. Experts are all Luciferian elite sellouts that create and/or exacerbate the problems.
