Wow man. Most detailed Falcon builds I think I've ever seen, and it's gorgeous. Everyone else is going off about the 3d printed fans too, but I have to mention them again... the attention to detail is just crazy. Spectacular job.

Interesting approach. Those upper holes in the spine had a different purpose, IIRC the technical manual labeled them as umbilical ports, probably to refuel matter and antimatter in a drydock. That lowest one has always been the rear torpedo launcher, same as that hole above the deflector dish.

Just saw this, and learned about Boyd. This news really hit me hard, and send my sympathies to his Family and Friend's. I loved the Trek work's channel, it inspired me to work on my models, and Boyd had given me suggestions, on how to go about working on what I was trying to accomplish. I will miss his videos, and seeing his project's, and How to tips. The modeling community has indeed suffered a Great loss... We have all lost a mentor, and modeling friend.

Tulip the fabric paint you can find at Walmart or hobby lobby. It thick and easy clean up before it dries. The black also light blocks light that maybe sneaking out a gap and will level out when drying

Did you get a premade board, or make your own? I have Falcon3D's bluetoooth board, but am probably going to add another since that doesn't have all of the lighting I want.
@KFMstudio2746 ай бұрын
I was originally going to add my own board to the one that comes with it, but half of the original board went down. They sent me a new one & I combined them together. That gave me enough outputs for the lights I needed. The kits remote board has two power legs @ 500ma each if I remember correctly, so the good one will give me 1 amp of power, and the other that is half working will give me another 500ma for a total of 1.5 amps which gave me enough amps for all the lighting I did. I just had to make sure to distribute the lights power drawl evenly across the 3 power legs & not exceed 500ma per leg.

Great work…impressive. Most impressive. I’ve recently started my build (I’m on part 12…early days). I’m wondering if it’s possible to customise it with the laser that ends the Snowtroopers in EP5? To get the hatch to open, the laser to drop down then turn fast plus the sound and maybe use a real laser light…I might be biting off more than I can chew 😂

Man that would be really awesome

@@KFMstudio274 it really would. I’m going to look into it. Do or do not. There is no try.
@ArnaldRimmerАй бұрын
Hi, na i think what you wanted to do would be relatively easy? 1, the "laser light" could be the "innerds" of a laser pointer (and a little bit of fog? Vape pen etc.?”) put into the gun itself or inside the ship and a little bit of optic fibre from the laser lens to the end of the barrels? A bit like the 1/16th size Henglong RC tanks, there is a little machine gun on top of the tanks that flashes when you trigger it, have a look? I think that is what your trying to achieve? Or just buy one of the machine guns separately and just use that? It will cut down the amount of time and work needed? and 2, with the "mechanics" of the gun coming out and turning around etc., you could use, 1 or 2 extremely small micro servos or even a cheap linear servos on ebay, "they look like a little circuit board with a motor and some gears stuck on it?" they are not expensive they are only about a fiver each delivered! they are very small!, or another way of doing it is with getting some small motors and there little 1-2 inch long brass shafts from some old CD drives, “they are the ones that push the tray in and out? and for the " mechanics" of it, “the way it pops out of the slide hatch and turns etc.? have a look at some vids about Lego mechanics? you don't need to use Lego but the ideas are sound and very interesting to see, like try searching for vids like, “ how to build a Lego door hatch?” etc., just for the knowledge and research? Anyway that is my 2 cents mate, I really hope you do get it sorted, I would luv to see that at some point? Anyway, take care mate and I hope you do it and of source always have a great day all!

@@ArnaldRimmer what a great answer. Cheers mate. Some brilliant ideas there. The Lego one is especially good as I collected Lego sets for a few years until recently. I’d definitely have the needed pieces amongst it all. I’m no good with soldering etc, so the servo idea might be above my pay grade. That being said, the whole model was new to me and I’ve had to learn weathering etc along the way. I’m definitely going to lookup the gun from the rc tank. I had no idea such a thing existed. A combo of all your ideas in some combination will definitely work. I’m going to put the finished model on my channel once done, so keep an eye out. I’ll definitely give you credit for your ideas. Cheers and thanks again, Jason.
@ArnaldRimmerАй бұрын
@@StarWarsJay Hi, thank you mate that was so nice of you to say! but soldering is really easy, if you can "assemble Lego kits and use a hand spry gun to weather parts and I assume you can use a glue gun? then I guarantee you can solder? Oh PS, and also if you want a continuous rotation servo just take out the electronics of the servo, hook up “solder” the 2 wires to the motor terminals and use it as a geared motor! Anyway, Take care and have a great day!
