hey man, after some months the tuning of both my 16'' fiberskin and renaissnce head went down by almost 5 whole tones. they are unplayable now because of their muddy bassy sound. Didd any of your drums' tuning alter after some time?

I'm new and just started playing tin whistle. This is one of my favorite songs of all time, and I want to learn it, but I have one question. In the 2nd fast part where you're playing the same note back to back 2-3 times in a row (b, b, b, c, D, D,), you must use tounging there, right? I would think it impossible to have the notes sound separated by just stopping and starting your breath that quickly without an articulation technique like tounging.
@danmusiceasy5 ай бұрын
Yes but tonguing is very easy to do especially on tin whistle

Hello! Can you please provide the sheet music you used? I have some kind, but it's too high version for Tin Whistle D :( I took them from the tabs for Low whistle :(
@danmusiceasy5 ай бұрын
I encourage you to learn this very simple, yet important principle: any song in a major key that doesn't have accidentals can be played on any whistle. Same for songs in a minor key. If you learn sheet music notation, you can transpose any song within seconds to the right key for your whistlle using Musescore (and download the sheet from them if you have a pro account). I was taking flute lessons and still I didn't realize this until much later on!

What measure and tempo is this? I cannot figure out where to start
@danmusiceasy10 ай бұрын
The piece is in 3/4 and the tempo is 70. You can either start right on the first beat with the "b" and omit the first d, which comes before. That is called a "Pickup measure", where there is one note that is before the 1st beat of the first measure. That is why I left some time before the backing track starts and an additional guitar measure. So if you want to start on the "one" with "b.... a b D b...", you would need to count 6 guitar notes which comprise the first measure and start on the 7th note. Now if that is hard, than you need a backing track with a metronome, which I create on Patreon (but haven't yet for this piece). I don't know if I would have been able to play along with a backing track like this in my first year and a half of flute lessons, although some people probably can do it easily. I will also make a cover myself so you can hear.

Thank you for your comment - however I don't think this style of guitar really works for this tune which is why, now that I own an actual guitar, I made a different version. And I plan to remake it even better as I keep practicing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIO4pmqwq6upbrssi What speed is it usually played at?

I'm not sure exactly cause we stopped along the way in various places. But the walk itself takes about as much as you can see in my 3 clips plus a little more, cause I filmed almost the entire way. I started from the area with the restaurants.

Now that I have a guitar, I can try to make a better backing track. Just need to learn how to change those chords fast enough :) The one I used here was a virtual instrument (of real guitar samples of course, but I didn't know how the arpegios should actually be played by a real guitarist.

Thanks! I find that on Ney, it takes a long time to get the sound, but once you get it, it's pretty much the same tone every time, it's not difficult anymore (like on Flute or Quena for example). I don't pay much these days, but I do plan on creating a Frame Drum course.
