Directed spoon feeds EE to you and makes it easier by cappin the rounds at 15. Which is why you don't get all the rewards. Doing the easter egg in standard means it's harder because you're still progressing rounds as you do steps. So it could be round 29 and you just finished the last step before bossfight.
