It’s funny, when we think of the Doors, we think of Jim’s poetically toned voice. But in reality, that keyboard Ray played is the most iconically claimed sound in musical history. You know the Beatles lyrics, you hear Jaggers voice, but when you hear that keyboard… that’s the Doors, man. I wish I could’ve experienced it all as it happened. Reading it from articles and books doesn’t do it for me anymore.

I loved this guy; he was such a gentleman and a great musician! I had the special pleasure of having a 1 1/2 hour conversation with him alone!

Ray Manzarek was almost as great a story teller as we was a musician. When he passed away, the world became much dimmer.
