After Pops passed away, me and my brother found in his attic our original Tyco slot car set from when we were kids back in the 60's. Later we dusted it off and checked it out. It wasn't in great shape, but it was complete. We spent hours and hours going over each track section by hand, cleaning and buffing up the rails and the electrical contacts, a little bit of repair in some places. We finally got it all done and put it together, with a little (a lot!) of tweaking and adjusting, and it worked! We found a hobby shop that had a few cars in that scale and some good pistol grip speed controls, and we were off to the races! I still remember, I had a dark blue Mazda RX-7, and he had a bright yellow Porsche 911. My car was too light and wouldn't hold a corner, but it would zip right past you on the straight (if I timed it right). My brother's Porsche, just like the real one, was heavy in the back end and would spin out if he wasn't careful. He always got in trouble on the exits. We got some friends in on the fun and they bought some cars too and we would have race nights pretty much every weekend. Couple of brewskis, some snacks, the game on the TV over in the corner; we made a party of it. We got countless hours of good times on that setup and many memories made, and all because Dad put that stuff in a box and saved it.

This series is 1/32 Slot it Group C. Mostly stock, no mag, rubber tires. Running 12.5v

Trying to figure out what manufacturers are being used in this race. Doesn't appear to be a single platform race.

Porsche 917 racing a 908 was a good drive. Some quick cars there, some a bit inconsistent.
