Emerson definitely made these guys work. His pieces were complicated and intense at many levels...Loved it.

I actually prefer this to the original: Lake has a wonderful voice, but the lyrics tend to distract me from the themes. And string quartet in unison, to my ears, sounds more intense than Emerson's Hammond organ. Great playing; think I need to buy this album.

Whilst I appreciate keeping ELP's music alive and making variations of it, I can't say I'm terribly keen on this one - just personal opinion. It doesn't get a thumbs down from me though, excellent musicians and good choice, just didn't really work for me.

I placed the video because I have always wanted since my teenage to see an orchestra played. However I hope to see a day of the ELP played by a orchestra with excellence.

Keith, why don't you base in Japan? Orchestral players there are waiting to play your new stuff with passion and precision, unlike those nasty old BBC players who look down the snoot.

This is so cool! I love what you have done with this! I've always wondered what this would sound like performed by a full symphony! I wish that Keith would break down the 3rd impression of Karn Evil 9 and tell us what each movement within the tune represents. There is *SO* much going on within it, beginning with the trumpet-like melody, all the way to the drum break near the conclusion. The computer arguing with its creator at the end is very creepy. I truly believe that this is a tune so ahead of its time, it still hasn't caught on to a lot of people, and it's shameful that it doesn't receive the attention it deserves, since it is so prophetic. Human's cannot exist now, without the computer. It has, in fact, taken us over, just like the tune describes.
