That's because tempered glass is design to break before your phone glass does and thats why it shatters first then you remove it and add a new one and not keep using the shattered one. The gel thing will not take the impact but transfer it to your phone screen. Sorry that happened to you and with how expensive OLED displays are we have to try and save them as best as we can.

shitogel again lol... Try a true 99.9% sapphire hydrogel. Its gonna survive more impact from an hammer than a tempered glass by offering TRUE Else just put a cheap hydrogel under a cheap tempered. The glass take the impact but the soft gel diffuse the impact. Its a fact that if you drop a baby(soft) and an adult(hard) from the third floor that the hard(adult) has more breaking points.(same concept why cats can make big jump and you dont see them with hardened paws). Most gel and glass will claim to have a 9h... false. Simple tool usage and test will demonstrate that most dont go past 4-5h P.S. No test should be done on babies resistance from a 3rd floor drop.

That's not true. Screen protector do the job by spread the impact, especially Ceramic brand (hard plastic protector). The negative effect is, user won't feel the premium of their glass screen.

I repair phones for a living, customers always bring phones with glass protector and smashed screen below, none of them truly protect the phone from being smashed, the best solution is buy a case with built in front protection plastic. But that is ugly.. anyway, I personally recommend hydrogel, the reading being because you don't need to keep replacing them every week like tempered glass protectors and they fit better on curved edged phones.

Good point. They should invert the order to be more accurate (and fair). However, the tempered glass is more sensitive to more daily situations. So, I think I'll pay the risks and go by Hydrogel.

I don't understand the difference between dropping the ball on the tramped glass first. We see that the hydrogel absorbs the impact but the tramped glass diffuses it on its screen. If we had changed the order of the ball's fall, would that really have changed anything? It would have cracked for the tramped glass as in the video and it would have absorbed it for the hydrogel as in the video. The order does not change anything in the test. The screen must be intact before the ball drops. If the tramped glass does not protect against the fall and cracks the screen, then to do the test on the hydrogel when the screen is already broken by the tramped glass test, it is to truncate the test.
