@ ummm no? The Head Family…. But yes, the other team were into Dr Who. They went on to win the series then a Champion of Champions special. We might have done better if any of us had ever watched the show before going on it!

The interviewer suggests the Daleks are making a comeback in the new series "next year" - so I would assume this refers to Remembrance of the Daleks? This would make this possibly sometime in 1987, although I assumed recording had taken place in the 90's?

I think it's probably talking about the 2005 series - there's a website URL. I'd missed the comment on 'next year' - that helps by narrowing it to 2004, instead of late 2003/early 2005

Ahh, very good point. I often forget about new Who - although I didn't think I was recording to VHS past the late 90's, so it's a bit of a mystery....

It was a transition period. I've got tons of amateur recordings of Doctor Who and there's a period in the mid 2000s where it becomes a wild mix of digital and VHS, 16:9 and widescreen (or one stretched to the other because you set it up wrong!); pristine or smeared to oblivion by an early compression algorithm. I think a lot of people had DVD players but not digital recorders, and kept using their old VCRs. I know I did.
