Great video mate. I did the Otago a couple of years ago now and couldn't wait to get back accross the ditch. Heading back in March to do the Otago again, but then the Clutha gold and the Dunstan.

@Zaryn10 Awesome. If you have time and haven't done it, consider the Alps 2 Ocean from Tekapo. You can do the A2O to Kurow, then take Danseys Pass (the easiest of the alpine pass connectors) over to Waipiata to ride the best parts of Central Otago Rail Trail. Although it's not formally part of Clutha Gold yet, the ride from Lawrence to Dunedin airport via Waipori is good. For an Aussie, that means easy connections to/from Christchurch and Dunedin airports. Best wishes. Brad

Thanks. Interesting. Like to do the route over Omarama Saddle.

Don't take too seriously our whinging about the wind etc - it was truly amazing! Fourth time lucky - we intended to do Omarama on our earlier 'Dunstan Figure 8' trip - kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5m0fn2iiZKJp68si=XtgcNGqlBkURr2YK - but my son had a broken arm and we thought he had done well to complete Thomson's Gorge and Dansey's pass. That Fig8 is definitely a good way to include Omarama Saddle. Another trip was completely rained out and there was another injury hit tour too. So glad we got to go over the saddle before we got too old!
